Chapter_48
Tyler spotted the maid as he entered the house and asked, “Is Olivia home?”
The maid smiled warmly. “Yes, she’s here. She’s upstairs changing.”
Tyler nodded and began to make his way upstairs. However, as he passed through the living room, something on the coffee table next to the couch caught his attention. He stopped abruptly and reached for a box of medication.
The maid quickly recalled that she had removed it from Olivia’s bag and hastily explained, “Sir, I took it out of Ms. Olivia’s bag.”
Tyler’s calm demeanor shifted, his face tightening with concern as he questioned, “This is hers?”
“M—Mm-hmm, it’s hers,” the maid stammered.
Tyler’s expression hardened. “Is she upstairs?”
The maid, sensing the tension in his voice, answered, “Yes… She’s in her room.”
Without another word, Tyler proceeded upstairs.
Meanwhile, Olivia had just finished changing. She was at her vanity, removing her earrings, when the door swung open. Startled, she turned toward the door.
She quickly stood up, her voice uncertain. “T—Tyler?”
He stood in the doorway, his silhouette framed by the light, his expression unreadable. Olivia was caught off guard by his sudden appearance and the seriousness in his demeanor.
Tyler held up something in his hand and asked, his voice clipped, “What’s this?”
Olivia’s eyes widened when she saw what he was holding. A surge of panic coursed through her, and she rushed toward him, trying to snatch the box from his hand. But Tyler was quick, holding it just out of her reach.
“Give it to me, Tyler,” she pleaded, her voice trembling.
He continued to hold it just out of her grasp, his eyes locking with hers. “Were you planning to use this?” His tone was stern, though controlled.
Olivia’s heart pounded in her chest, and she couldn’t find the words to respond. She looked away, embarrassed and unsure of how to explain.
Tyler’s gaze sharpened. “Do you even know what this is?”
Olivia’s confusion deepened, and Tyler’s voice grew more intense. “This contains a substance that could affect your health. Was there something wrong with our situation that you felt you needed this?”
Her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. She stammered, “It says it helps with conception. I didn’t know—”
Tyler cut her off, his frustration evident. “You should have known better. Do you realize the potential harm this could cause to your body?”
Olivia had thought it was just a regular supplement, but now she understood how serious the situation was. She felt a deep sense of shame, her cheeks burning as she lowered her gaze. “I really didn’t know,” she admitted softly.
Tyler, though clearly upset, took a deep breath to calm himself. His voice softened, but there was still a firmness to it. “Olivia, conception should happen naturally. Resorting to something like this is not the answer. I don’t want to see it here again, understand?”
Olivia nodded timidly, her voice barely a whisper. “O—Okay.”
Without another word, Tyler turned and left the room. The weight of the conversation lingered in the air, and Olivia stood there, feeling small and conflicted.
At dinner, Olivia was unusually quiet. She kept her gaze lowered, silently picking at her food. Tyler, too, remained silent, and the maid, sensing the tension, refrained from mentioning the situation.
After the meal, Tyler made his way upstairs, and Olivia followed shortly after, her steps slow and her spirit clearly deflated.
