Chapter_96

Tyler’s heart raced as he scanned the empty room, his mind already conjuring up worst-case scenarios. He couldn’t understand where Olivia had gone, or why she hadn’t returned home yet. His frustration deepened, but he forced himself to take a breath and focus. She had to be somewhere, but where?

The maid’s voice called up from the bottom of the stairs, shaking him from his thoughts. “Mr. Tyler, the police are on their way. They said they’ll keep searching.”

Tyler didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he moved swiftly through the house, trying to maintain some sense of control. Every inch of the house felt like it was closing in on him, the walls pressing against his chest. Where could she have gone?

He moved toward the back of the house, towards the garden where Olivia sometimes went when she needed to be alone. His thoughts lingered on her—why hadn’t she answered his calls or returned home? Was she truly alright?

Suddenly, the ringing of his phone cut through the tension. Tyler grabbed it without hesitation.

“Hello?” His voice was rough, betraying his nerves.

“Mr. Tyler,” a voice on the other end of the line said, “we found Ms. Olivia. She’s at a bar downtown. It seems she’s had a little too much to drink. She’s been vomiting, but she’s not injured.”

Tyler’s stomach sank, and the tension in his body momentarily released. “Where is she? What’s happening?”

“She’s fine now, just a little disoriented. She’s with someone who’s helping her.”

Relief mixed with confusion washed over Tyler. Olivia? At a bar? Why hadn’t she told him where she was going? And who was helping her?

“Who is she with?” Tyler’s voice grew tight again.

“We don’t know his name, but he’s a man, seems like someone she knows. He’s keeping an eye on her.”

Tyler’s mind raced. A man? Who was it? Was it someone from the party?

Without wasting another second, Tyler grabbed his keys and headed for the door. He had to get to her, and he couldn’t let anything—or anyone—interfere.
