Chapter 85
Hera’s phone went straight to voicemail.
Nash’s frustration mounted as he attempted a video call on WhatsApp, but it remained unanswered. His brow furrowed deeper with each passing second.
Theo, noticing Nash’s concern, asked quickly, “What’s going on, Nashy?”
“Hera’s missing…” Nash’s voice carried a hint of worry, his mind racing. He couldn’t shake the memory of the assassin who had targeted her before. If she wasn’t answering now, it likely meant she was in trouble.
Without another word, Nash stood up and began moving toward the door. Theo, quick to follow, pulled out his phone and began dialing.
Olivia, who had been waiting outside, saw the urgency in their movements. Without hesitation, she followed them.
“Salvatore, help me track down a woman named Hera Lewis,” Theo barked into the phone before swiftly ending the call and dialing another number.
“Chief Zink, it’s Theo Skye. I need you to help me check on Ms. Hera Lewis. She’s with the Lewises. Any information you can get would be crucial.”
“Use all your connections. I need to find her, now!” he added with force.
Theo made three calls in quick succession. Meanwhile, Olivia frowned, her concern rising. “Hera’s missing?” she whispered, glancing toward Theo for confirmation.
He nodded grimly, not trusting himself to speak.
Just as Nash stepped into the elevator, his phone buzzed. It was a video call from Lauren.
“Nashy, we can’t reach Hera…” Lauren’s voice, usually so steady, trembled with unease.
Nash’s heart skipped a beat. Hera had once faced an assassin while returning to the Lewis household, and he was the one who had saved her and Skadi. If they couldn’t reach her now, something serious was happening.
“Don’t worry, Lauren. I’m already working on it,” Nash reassured her, his voice steady despite his rising anxiety.
As Nash and the others exited the elevator, Theo’s phone rang. It was Salvatore Smith.
“Mr. Skye,” Salvatore said urgently, “I just remembered—Crow brought two beautiful women back tonight.”
Theo’s pulse quickened. “Where did he take them?”
“Causeway Bay.”
“Is Crow your man?”
“Crow’s the big boss in Causeway Bay, Skye. He outranks me by far,” Salvatore explained, his voice laced with embarrassment.
“Find out if one of the women he brought back is named Hera Lewis,” Theo demanded.
“I’ll ask right away.”
Meanwhile, in a southern suburban transport company, the activity was intense despite the late hour. Dozens of workers, their shirts soaked with sweat, loaded heavy furniture onto trucks.
In the office, a bald man with a large gold chain sprawled in a chair, his legs propped up on the desk. His seductive secretary massaged his legs, her presence a stark contrast to the roughness of his appearance. The man’s shirt was open, revealing a chest marked by scars, a testament to his violent past.
He picked up his phone and dialed Crow’s number.
“Yo, Silly Salv, what’s up?” came the casual voice on the other end.
“I heard you brought two women back tonight,” Salvatore said, his tone sharp. “One of them— is her name Hera?”
Crow’s laugh crackled through the phone. “Damn, what’s it to you?”
“Just answer me—yes or no.”
Crow’s teasing voice turned mockingly playful. “What? You got your eye on her? Even if she’s yours, I’m still gonna have some fun with her today. Hahaha…”
“I’m warning you, don’t touch her,” Salvatore growled, his patience wearing thin.
Crow’s tone shifted, darkening. “Silly Salv, have you forgotten who I am? You think you can threaten me?” His laughter stopped abruptly. “What if it’s Mr. Skye?”
“Forget Mr. Skye. In Jonford, I take orders only from Mr. Lane!” Crow shot back before abruptly hanging up.
Salvatore’s face darkened, fury rising in his chest. He stood up with a jolt, turning to Blake, who had been silently observing. “Gather everyone. We’re heading to Causeway Bay—now!”
