Chapter 52
“You’re right to teach them a lesson, Dr. Calcraft,” Walter replied with a smile.
He knew that Nash was highly skilled in martial arts and had, in fact, been merciful the previous day. However, he didn’t appreciate the underlying threat in Nash’s tone.
Kai and Queenie were his family’s treasures, and he would never allow any harm to come to them.
After the meal, Nash called the restaurant owner over to settle the bill. The total for the four of them came to a mere 27 dollars.
Rubbing his stomach in satisfaction, Nash followed Walter to the Watsons’ residence.
At the heart of the Watson family estate stood a nine-story villa. Inside the luxurious living room, Kai sat on the sofa, his expression dark and brooding.
It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that he had lost all dignity at the Lewises’ home that day. Now, he was focused on figuring out how to help Helena regain her standing.
“Mr. Kai, the old master has a strong relationship with Mr. Lee,” Canary said, sitting on the opposite sofa with his legs casually crossed. “If you ask him to intervene, you can definitely turn this situation around!”
Kai’s eyes narrowed as he considered the suggestion. “That’s the only way.”
Mr. Lee was Olivia’s grandfather and the father of the chairman of Drake Group. He wasn’t just any man—he had served in the border defense of the Northern Territory and had been a three-star commander-in-chief. Even Kai’s grandfather showed him the utmost respect.
“I’m so pissed! So fucking pissed!” Queenie suddenly stormed into the living room, flanked by two bodyguards. Everyone turned to look at her.
She flung herself onto the couch next to Kai, her voice thick with emotion. “Cousin, I’ve been bullied. You have to help me get my revenge.”
Though Kai was just her cousin, he had a soft spot for Queenie and often stepped in when someone wronged her.
“Who bullied our little princess?” Canary asked, his tone full of admiration. He knew his place—he was just a loyal follower of Kai, unworthy of Queenie.
Queenie’s face contorted with anger as she answered, “His name is Nash. That bastard made me drink two bowls of haggis soup!”
Canary raised an eyebrow. “What’s that?”
Queenie, uninterested in explaining, simply waved her hand dismissively. “I don’t want to talk about it anymore. Just… get someone to teach him a lesson.”
Canary’s smile turned sinister. He cracked his neck and said, “Don’t worry, princess. We’ll make sure he pays for this.”
“Kill him?” Queenie asked, her voice quivering with unease.
Canary gave her a reassuring smile, though he didn’t answer her question directly. He wasn’t about to reveal too much.
Just then, Kai’s phone rang. After the call, he stood up and said, “Grandpa’s brought Nash over to treat Grandma. We should avoid them for a while.”
Queenie clenched her fists, a sneer crossing her face. “Why should we avoid him? He has the nerve to ask for a hundred million in consultation fees. Let’s see how he plans to heal Grandma. If he fails, we’ll have every reason to teach him a lesson.”
Their grandmother had been in a coma for several years. What could a young man like Nash possibly do when even the best medical teams, both locally and abroad, had failed?
Kai’s lips curled into a slight smile. “You’re right. Let’s wait and see.”
Ten minutes later, the Watson family had gathered, all curious and skeptical about the genius doctor their head of the family had brought home to treat Madam Watson.
The room was filled with incredulous murmurs.
“The madam has been in a coma for three years. Is there really anyone who can cure her?”
“That’s right. Even Miracle Doctor Tanner couldn’t help, so what hope is there?”
“I heard Uncle paid a hundred million for this consultation!”
“A hundred million?” The shock in their voices was palpable.
“Has he gone senile in his old age?”
