Chapter_200

“Where’s she?” Tyler’s voice was laced with concern.

“She’s sleeping,” the maid replied softly.

Tyler frowned, glancing at the clock. It was still only 7 pm. He didn’t press further and made his way upstairs.

He opened Olivia’s door gently, his eyes immediately landing on her lying motionless on the bed. The sight of her, so still, made his chest tighten. She looked too fragile, too distant. He had been by her side the entire morning, leaving only around 11 am, but now, her lack of movement stirred something in him.

The maid stood silently by the door, waiting for instruction.

“Should I wake her up?” she asked tentatively.

Tyler’s gaze lingered on Olivia’s pale face before he shook his head. “No. Let her sleep,” he murmured, his voice soft but firm. Without another word, he left the room and quietly closed the door behind him.

His mind wandered back to Olivia’s deteriorating health. She was constantly drowsy, with no appetite. Her energy seemed to drain by the hour, and she looked more exhausted every day. The Harris family had sent a couple of doctors to check on her, but they had refrained from prescribing any medication, concerned about the possible risks to the child. All they advised was rest—rest that didn’t seem to help her at all.

Ana had suggested that Olivia stay with her, but Tyler had dismissed the idea outright, offering no room for compromise. Despite the growing concern for her well-being, he had kept his emotions tightly controlled. He let Olivia rest, allowing her the space to do as she pleased without pushing her beyond her limits.

The following morning, after five days at Sandalwood Palace, Tyler couldn’t suppress his urge to help her out of the slump she was in. “Should I take you out for a walk?” he asked, his voice low and hopeful.

Olivia’s response was weak, barely above a whisper. “No need. I’m fine staying in the room.”

“The weather’s nice today. We could use some sun and fresh air,” Tyler suggested again, his eyes searching her face for any sign of agreement.

But Olivia wasn’t having it. “I can get sunlight in the room,” she said, her gaze unfocused, her mind clearly elsewhere.

Tyler watched her closely, noticing the sharpness of her cheekbones and the hollow beneath her eyes. She had lost so much weight in such a short time. His concern deepened, but he masked it with a sigh. “Alright then. Just let me know if you feel unwell,” he added, his tone quieter now, giving her the space she needed.

Hillary’s sudden arrival shattered the fragile peace of the morning. She had heard from someone that Olivia hadn’t been eating properly since her return from the hospital, and that was enough to bring her rushing over, uninvited and unannounced.

The maid, caught off guard, quickly went upstairs to inform Tyler of Hillary’s presence. Olivia tensed the moment she heard Hillary’s name.

Without waiting for an invitation, Hillary barged into the room, her gaze immediately locking on Olivia, who was lying weakly on the bed.

“Tyler,” Hillary said with sharp concern, “I heard Olivia is still refusing to eat?” Her eyes flicked over to Olivia, studying her weakened state. Hillary’s expression tightened, and she quickly turned her attention back to Tyler, her voice taking on a scolding tone. “I’ve told you, you need to eat meat. How will you get any nutrients otherwise?”

Tyler stood frozen, momentarily taken aback by Hillary’s abruptness, but said nothing, watching her move forward.

Hillary turned to the maid, her commands already issued. “Bring me a bowl. Olivia must drink the soup I brought.”

The maid hesitated, clearly uncomfortable with the situation but ultimately obeyed her orders. Hillary’s voice rang out, insistent, “Go now.”

The maid returned with the thermos, and Hillary swiftly opened it. The moment the lid came off, the room filled with the strong, fishy odor of the soup, sending a wave of discomfort through Olivia. She instinctively pressed her hand to her stomach, her face contorting slightly as the overpowering scent made her stomach churn.
