Chapter_187

Tyler hadn’t expected Olivia to be pregnant either, but the moment she vomited, a hunch struck him.

“Let’s just confirm it,” he said softly, trying to calm her storming thoughts.

Olivia was terrified, her mind tangled in panic and uncertainty. She couldn’t think straight. Her heart raced as worry overwhelmed her.

Seeing her like this, Tyler pulled her into his arms. She sobbed quietly against him, her face tilted upward, eyes brimming with tears.

“Why now?” she asked through her tears, her voice cracking. She had mentally prepared herself for IVF—something planned, something controlled. This? This felt like a bolt from the blue.

Tyler held her even tighter and whispered gently, “Sometimes fate sends us unexpected blessings.”

Her tears flowed even harder, silent but unstoppable. Her body trembled in his arms as Tyler patiently wiped her tears away. Despite the chaos in her heart, his expression remained calm and steady, like an anchor in the storm.

“Do you not like this?” he asked softly.

Olivia shut her eyes, unable to answer, her face buried in his chest. Her fingers clung tightly to his shirt as if afraid he might let go.

When the maid returned, Tyler immediately instructed, “Pack a few undergarments and her documents, then come with me.” Without wasting another second, he carried Olivia to the car.

The maid, startled but understanding the urgency, nodded quickly. She gathered Olivia’s essentials in a flurry of motion and rushed downstairs to join them.

As the car pulled away, Ana arrived at the house, puzzled by the sudden departure. Watching the taillights disappear into the distance, her brows furrowed.
Where could they be going in such a hurry? she wondered.

At the hospital, Olivia underwent a series of tests. Time seemed to slow as Tyler waited outside, pacing occasionally, his thoughts spinning.

Finally, the doctor appeared. Tyler straightened immediately, eyes locking onto the physician’s.

“The test confirms she’s pregnant. She’s about six weeks along,” the doctor said.

Tyler accepted the report in silence. His gaze lingered on the ultrasound images. In the grainy black-and-white photo, the faint outline of a tiny embryo appeared. For a long moment, he just stared. There were no words for what he felt—only an emotion that welled up from deep within.

“The pregnancy is still early and fragile. She’ll need to stay here for a few days under observation,” the doctor added.

“Alright,” Tyler said after a pause. “Let her rest here.”

Five minutes later, he stepped into the ward. Olivia was propped against the pillows, her eyes trailing after the doctor before shifting to Tyler, who came to sit by her side.

“You’re really pregnant,” he said, his voice quiet but firm.

A flood of emotions surged through Olivia. The reality hit her like a wave—heavy, inescapable. She didn’t know how to react.

Tyler handed her the ultrasound image.
“This is our baby. Take a look.”

But Olivia didn’t move. Her hands remained tightly clasped on top of the blanket. She was frozen, as if the image might become real the moment she touched it.

Sensing her fear, Tyler gently reached for her hand, guiding it to the photo.
“It’s right here,” he said, pointing at the small bean-shaped figure nestled in the dark shape.

Olivia looked down. To her, it was a blur—an unfamiliar void with something tiny resting inside. It didn’t feel real. It didn’t look like life. She pulled her hand back quickly, her heart pounding.

“She’s still very young. Please be gentle with her,” the doctor advised quietly.

Tyler nodded, his tone composed.
“You’ll need to stay here for now. The baby’s not stable yet. Don’t be afraid.”

Olivia clutched the blanket tighter, the words weighing down on her.

After the doctor left, a long silence settled in the room.

Then, Olivia spoke, her voice soft and hesitant.
“I still have to attend school.”
