Chapter_188
“I’ll call the school,” Tyler said calmly.
Olivia gripped the blanket tighter, her knuckles white. Her heart felt like it was sinking. Fear and denial churned inside her, making it hard to breathe.
Seeing her so fragile, Tyler pulled her into his arms again, holding her gently.
“Don’t be scared, okay? The baby’s already here. We should be happy about that.”
Olivia didn’t answer. Instead, she closed her eyes and pressed her face into his shoulder, trembling silently.
Tyler could no longer hold back the surge of emotion. Carefully, he lifted her from the bed and settled her onto his lap, cradling her tightly in his embrace. She didn’t speak, and he didn’t expect her to. For now, he just wanted her to feel safe.
It had been a whirlwind of a day—exhausting, emotional, overwhelming for them both.
From the side of the room, the maid stood quietly, watching the tender scene unfold. The emotions in the room were thick, but the situation still felt strange to her, uncertain.
Still, she stepped forward and said, “Sir, she hasn’t been eating much. Now that she’s pregnant, she needs proper nutrition. I’ll go home and make her some soup.”
Tyler continued to comfort Olivia, nodding without looking away from her.
“Alright, go ahead.”
“She’s still young. Give her some time—she’ll feel better once she calms down,” the maid added gently.
“Mm-hmm,” he murmured in response.
The maid quietly left the room. Just as she stepped into the hallway, she ran into Ana, who had followed them to the hospital. Caught off guard, the maid stumbled in surprise.
“M–Ma’am!”
Ana’s brows knitted together as she glanced toward the ward.
“What happened? Why is Olivia hospitalized?”
The maid hesitated. She wasn’t sure if she had the right to reveal the news.
Ana’s eyes narrowed. “What is it? Tell me.”
Unable to keep it in any longer, the maid stammered, “M–Ms. Olivia is… pregnant, ma’am.”
Ana froze.
“She’s pregnant?”
“Yes. They just found out. She’s over a month along.”
A moment of stunned silence passed before Ana’s expression lit up with unrestrained joy.
“I’m going to be a grandma?” she repeated, as if needing confirmation.
“That’s right, ma’am.”
Ana beamed. “I knew it! She’s so young—how could she possibly be infertile? That nonsense was never believable to me!” Her excitement was uncontainable. “Quick, tell Maisy and Keith the good news. And make her some soup—do you know which kind she’ll need?”
The maid hesitated. She wasn’t sure if she should take orders from Ana or Tyler in this situation, but she could only nod.
“Yes, ma’am.”
As the maid rushed off to deliver the news to the rest of the Harris family, Ana remained by the ward door, her eyes shining.
Moments later, she entered the room with a wide smile.
Inside, Tyler was still seated beside Olivia, his arms protectively wrapped around her. But his expression darkened when he saw Ana step in.
Startled, Olivia quickly pushed against his chest, trying to separate herself. Tyler let her go without resistance.
Adjusting herself on the bed, Olivia looked up.
“Aunt Ana,” she said softly.
Ana’s smile grew even brighter as she walked over.
“Why are you still calling me that?” she said, eyes sparkling. “You’re pregnant with our grandchild now. You should be calling me ‘Mom’ from now on.”
