The maid turned back to Olivia, her expression wary. “Morgan? Who told you that name?” she asked, her voice tinged with caution.
Olivia bit her lip, feeling a sense of unease settle in her stomach. “Claude… he mentioned a name. He said something about Morgan when Tyler was… angry.”
The maid’s face paled slightly, and she took a step back, as if weighing whether or not to say more. “Miss Olivia,” she began hesitantly, “Morgan is… well, someone from Mr. Tyler’s past. A long time ago, before everything changed.”
Olivia felt a chill run down her spine. Before everything changed? The tension in the air seemed to thicken, and she couldn’t help but wonder what it all meant. Why was Tyler so angry about Morgan? What kind of history did they share?
“Do you know what happened?” Olivia asked, her voice small.
The maid hesitated for a moment before speaking again. “I don’t know all the details, Miss Olivia. But… Morgan was involved in something dangerous. There were rumors… that he was involved with the wrong people. After everything that happened, Mr. Tyler became very protective of those he cares about, especially you and your sister.”
Olivia’s mind raced, trying to piece things together. Morgan? The name lingered on her mind, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to this story than she had been told.
“Did something bad happen to Naomi because of him?” Olivia asked, her voice shaking slightly.
The maid’s expression softened, though the unease was still there. “I don’t know the full story, Miss. But yes, Naomi was involved in a scary situation. It was something that shook Mr. Tyler to his core. He hasn’t really spoken about it, but I can tell he’ll do anything to protect the people he loves. That’s why he’s so angry right now.”
Olivia nodded slowly, her thoughts spinning. She wasn’t sure what to believe or what to make of the situation. There were so many unanswered questions swirling in her mind. Why had Tyler been so angry with Claude? What was the connection to Morgan? And what did it all mean for her?
The maid gave Olivia a sympathetic glance before turning to leave. “I’ll leave your clothes here, Miss Olivia. Please rest. Mr. Tyler only wants what’s best for you.”
Olivia sat there in the bath, her mind a storm of thoughts. What if something bad happened to Naomi? What if it was because of Morgan? The pieces weren’t fitting together, and she felt more lost than ever. She needed answers—answers that only Tyler could give.
But for now, all she could do was try to get some rest. The day had taken so much out of her, and yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the worst was yet to come.
