Chapter_237

Only then did Olivia realize she had been holding the baby for quite some time. She let out a soft laugh and stuck out her tongue playfully before gently handing the baby back to Marianne.

Tyler watched her with a warm smile in his eyes, a rare softness that hadn’t been there before.

Those around them began to tease Olivia lightheartedly. “You’ll have plenty of chances to hold your own baby soon,” someone joked, followed by knowing laughter.

Olivia’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she looked away shyly. Tyler didn’t say anything, but his faint smile remained, clearly enjoying the moment and the teasing atmosphere.

As the party continued, Olivia stayed close to Tyler, quietly following him while he greeted guests and exchanged pleasantries. Though he included her whenever possible, there were still moments when she felt a little out of place, standing quietly while others conversed like old friends.

Eventually, Marianne approached and said kindly, “Why don’t you take a break, Olivia? You might be getting bored just standing around.”

Caught off guard by the suggestion, Olivia blinked and looked at Tyler, unsure what to say.

Tyler noticed her glance and asked, “Feeling tired?”

She shook her head slightly. “Not really… just a little.”

“If you are, go ahead and rest. I’ll come find you later,” he said, his voice gentle.

Olivia hesitated, then nodded. “Okay.”

“Just be careful,” Tyler reminded her. He glanced down, noting her flat shoes and the loose-fitting dress that hinted at nothing yet. She was only two months along, but he was clearly thinking ahead.

“I will,” Olivia assured him.

Marianne led her down a quieter hallway to a cozy lounge area furnished with comfortable chairs and soft lighting. “Here, sit down and relax for a bit.”

Olivia quickly waved her hand. “It’s alright, I can manage. You don’t have to trouble yourself.”

Marianne chuckled. “Don’t worry. There’s food, drinks, and even a TV in here. Just make yourself comfortable, alright?”

Olivia smiled back gratefully. “Thank you.”

Marianne called over a maid to keep Olivia company, then gently rocked her daughter, who had begun to fuss. “I think someone’s getting hungry. I’ll be back after I feed her.”

As the baby began to cry softly, Olivia said, “Of course. Don’t worry.”

Once Marianne left, the lounge fell quiet, with only the sound of the television playing softly in the background. The maid brought Olivia a drink and set it gently on the table beside her.

“Thank you,” Olivia said politely, a bit unsure of how to act in such a formal setting.

The maid gave a kind smile before stepping back, giving Olivia some space.

Though everything was pleasant and peaceful, Olivia soon grew bored sitting alone. After a while, she felt the need to use the restroom. Not wanting to trouble anyone, she stood up and followed the signs in the hallway.

She finally found the restroom and pushed the door open—only to pause when she heard two women chatting inside.

“I heard she’s Naomi’s sister. Can you believe she stole her fiancé?” one voice said, dripping with disbelief.

“Yeah, she must have some kind of tricks to take her own sister’s man. Maybe she cast a spell on him,” the other replied mockingly.

Olivia froze just inside the doorway, the color draining from her face. Their voices were low, but clear enough. She didn’t need to ask who they were talking about.

Her.
