Chapter_277
Olivia felt comforted by Tyler’s words, but a part of her couldn’t shake the fear that still lingered deep inside. She closed her eyes, taking in the calm rhythm of his heartbeat, but the uncertainty of what might happen during the test was too heavy to ignore. Her thoughts were filled with “what ifs” that played on a loop in her mind.
“You’re right,” she whispered, her voice soft and uncertain. “But… what if it’s something we can’t handle?”
Tyler’s hand gently stroked her hair, and he leaned down slightly to rest his cheek on the top of her head. “Olivia,” he said quietly, as though searching for the right words, “no matter what comes, we face it together. You won’t be alone in this.”
His words were comforting, but there was a small part of her that still felt unsure. She didn’t want to rely on Tyler too much, didn’t want to feel like she was depending on him for everything. Yet, in moments like this, when her anxiety was at its peak, it was hard not to feel a sense of relief when he was there, offering his steady support.
“Thank you,” she murmured, trying to push away the lingering doubt. “I’m just… scared.”
“I know,” Tyler replied softly. “But you’re strong, Olivia. We both are. And we’ll get through this.”
The gentle pressure of his hand on her back made her feel grounded, like she wasn’t floating in a sea of worry. It was a small comfort, but it was enough to help her focus, just a little.
Olivia looked up at him, her heart racing from both the fear of the upcoming test and the proximity between them. “I’m glad you’re here,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Tyler met her gaze, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to disappear. There was something in the way he looked at her, something deep in his eyes that made Olivia feel as though he was saying more than just words. He cared for her, in ways she hadn’t fully understood before.
“You don’t have to thank me,” he said, his voice low and steady. “I’m here for you, Olivia. Always.”
With that, they arrived at the hospital. The moment was broken as the car slowed to a stop, but Olivia felt a small sense of calm wash over her. She wasn’t alone, not anymore. And with Tyler beside her, she could face whatever was ahead.
As they entered the hospital, Olivia couldn’t shake the feeling that this moment—this test—was just another step in a journey she wasn’t entirely ready for, but one she was walking with someone who would be there with her, no matter what.
