Chapter_251

Olivia hesitated for a moment, considering the options. She wasn’t hungry, but the thought of staying in her room all day made her restless. “I think I’ll go downstairs,” she said, sitting up a bit in bed. “It might be nice to get some fresh air.”

Tyler nodded, a hint of concern in his eyes as he watched her. “Are you sure you’re up for it? You need to take it easy.”

“I’ll be fine,” Olivia reassured him, forcing a small smile. “I’ve been in bed all morning. It’s getting a bit too quiet in here.” She glanced at the closed windows, feeling trapped by the stillness of the room.

Tyler didn’t argue. He walked over and helped her to her feet, making sure she wasn’t feeling dizzy. “I’ll bring you downstairs. But no overexerting yourself, okay?”

“Okay,” Olivia agreed, leaning a little on him for support as they made their way downstairs.

The house felt quieter than usual, the tension from the previous night still hanging in the air. Maisy, who had been up early with Olivia, seemed to have softened, though there was still a shadow of worry in her eyes. She greeted Olivia with a warm smile when she saw her, but her expression quickly became more serious as she asked, “How are you feeling now?”

“I’m better,” Olivia replied, offering a genuine smile this time. “The doctor said I just need some rest.”

Maisy nodded, her hand gently resting on Olivia’s. “I’m glad to hear that. I… I didn’t know how serious it had been. I’m sorry for how I acted yesterday.”

Olivia appreciated the apology, though she knew it was hard for Maisy to admit. “It’s okay. I understand. We’re all a bit stressed right now.”

Tyler stepped in, giving Olivia a small smile as she sat down at the dining table. He could see that the tension between her and Maisy was beginning to fade. “Why don’t we all sit down and have some lunch? It’s been a hectic few days.”

The maids brought over the soup Ana had ordered, and they sat together in a somewhat uneasy silence. Olivia didn’t mind the quiet, but she couldn’t help feeling like there was more to the situation than just her health. The air still seemed thick with unspoken words, especially with Maisy’s quiet apology and the ongoing concerns about the family business.

Tyler cleared his throat as he sat down beside Olivia. “I know things have been tense, but we’ll get through it. We just need to take it one step at a time.”

Maisy, looking more at ease now, glanced at Tyler. “What about the situation with Averie Co. and Pinnacle Group?” she asked cautiously. “How’s that going?”

Tyler didn’t immediately answer. Instead, he looked at Olivia, then back at Maisy. “We’ll handle it,” he said simply. “But I’m not going to rush decisions just to make things easier.”

Maisy nodded, seeming to understand that his focus was still on business, even if the family dynamic was fraught. “I just hope everything works out. For all our sakes.”

Olivia sat back in her chair, still feeling a little drained, but the presence of both Tyler and Maisy was comforting. The tension had yet to fully dissolve, but for the first time in a while, she felt like maybe things could settle. Eventually.
