Chapter_252

Olivia felt a mix of relief and exhaustion as Tyler gently helped her out of the wheelchair, the fresh air and warm sunlight immediately soothing her. The garden was peaceful, with the scent of flowers filling the air. Tyler’s touch was reassuring, yet there was an undercurrent of tension that she couldn’t quite shake. His gentleness was comforting, but she could sense that he was holding back, trying to keep things under control for her sake.

As they walked slowly, Olivia leaned into him, grateful for the moment. “Thank you for this,” she murmured, glancing up at him.

Tyler looked down at her, his expression softening just for a moment before he quickly masked it with his usual cool demeanor. “It’s nothing. You need to rest, but a little fresh air will help.”

They walked in silence for a while, the soft crunch of gravel beneath their feet the only sound between them. Olivia appreciated the quiet, though a part of her wanted to ask about what had happened earlier with Maisy. She could feel the distance, the way the air seemed to thicken whenever Maisy was mentioned. But now didn’t seem like the right time.

Instead, Olivia broke the silence. “How’s the situation with the business?” she asked cautiously. “I heard… a lot of things are going on.”

Tyler’s jaw tightened for a brief moment, but he didn’t look at her. “There’s a lot of cleanup to do,” he said, his voice level. “Some things went wrong, and I’m dealing with them.”

Olivia didn’t press further, though she was curious. The tone in his voice told her that whatever was going on was more complicated than it seemed. She just didn’t know how deeply it affected him, or if he’d even let her in on the full picture. For now, she was content to enjoy this small moment of calm with him.

After a few minutes, Tyler guided her back toward the wheelchair. “That’s enough for now. You need to rest, Olivia,” he said, his voice firm yet tender.

Olivia didn’t argue. The walk had helped, but she was beginning to feel the weight of exhaustion pulling at her again. She settled back into the chair with his help, the coolness of the chair against her skin oddly comforting.

“I’ll take you upstairs,” Tyler said, and she nodded, feeling a strange sense of comfort in his presence.

As the maid helped push the wheelchair back inside, Tyler walked beside her, his eyes scanning the surroundings, almost as if he was waiting for something—or someone—to interrupt this fragile peace they had found. When they reached the stairs, he paused for a moment, looking at her with a slight frown.

“Olivia, take care of yourself. You’ve been through a lot,” he said quietly, his voice serious.

“I will,” she promised, though she wasn’t sure if she could handle everything that was going on. The uncertainty still hung in the air, but for now, she would focus on the baby, on getting better, and on trying to find some normalcy in the midst of the chaos that seemed to follow them.

As she was wheeled back into her room, she looked up at Tyler, feeling a strange mix of gratitude and concern. She wasn’t sure what the future held, but she knew one thing for sure—she wasn’t facing it alone. And for now, that was enough.
