Chapter_291

The driver hesitated for a moment, clearly uneasy under Tyler’s intense gaze. “I… I’m not sure, sir. She just mentioned the plaza, and I drove her there. I didn’t overhear anything about a specific meeting,” he explained cautiously.

Tyler’s eyes narrowed slightly as he processed the information. His expression remained calm, but there was a quiet tension in the air. “Claude, huh?” he repeated, as if testing the name on his tongue. A flicker of something passed through his eyes—whether it was concern or annoyance, Olivia couldn’t tell.

He looked back at the stairs where Olivia had hurriedly disappeared, his thoughts momentarily drifting. Olivia’s sudden trip to the plaza, coupled with her encounter with Claude, didn’t sit well with him. He had a feeling there was more to this than she was letting on.

The driver, still standing nervously, waited for further instructions.

Tyler let out a slow breath, his tone measured. “Keep an eye on things, but don’t interfere. Let me know if anything unusual happens.”

“Yes, sir.”

Tyler turned and made his way toward the staircase, his footsteps deliberate. When he reached the top, he stopped for a moment in the hallway, his hand resting on the railing. His mind was racing, but he kept his emotions in check. Olivia’s behavior was increasingly unpredictable, and he couldn’t quite understand what was happening with her. The photograph in the trash—the one of Morgan—had unsettled him more than he cared to admit.

He didn’t want to make her feel pressured, but the fact that she had been so withdrawn and now spent time with Claude was raising questions. What was she hiding?

With a deep breath, Tyler continued down the hall to Olivia’s room. When he reached her door, he knocked softly, careful not to startle her.

“Olivia?” His voice was gentle, but there was an underlying seriousness to it.

There was a brief silence before he heard her quiet voice from inside. “Yes, Tyler?”

He pushed the door open slightly, just enough to peer inside. Olivia was sitting on the edge of the bed, her gaze distant, her expression unreadable. The room was dimly lit, and she seemed lost in her thoughts, far away from the conversation that had just transpired downstairs.

“Can we talk?” Tyler asked, his tone soft but firm.

Olivia turned to face him, her eyes betraying a hint of hesitation, but she nodded slowly. “Sure.”

He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him, then took a seat across from her. The tension between them was palpable, but Tyler wasn’t about to let this moment slip by without addressing what was going on.

“Olivia,” he started, his voice quieter now, “I saw you with Claude today.”

Her eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, she looked like she might say something, but the words never came. Instead, she shifted uncomfortably.

Tyler watched her closely, waiting for her to speak, but when she didn’t, he continued, his voice gentle yet probing. “What’s going on between the two of you?”

Olivia’s gaze fell to the floor as she struggled to find the right words. She felt cornered, her emotions swirling like a storm inside her. She didn’t want to explain her feelings toward Claude, and certainly not about what had happened today. But the question lingered in the air, heavy and unspoken.

Tyler waited patiently, giving her the space to respond in her own time. He wasn’t going to push her too hard, but there was something about the way she was acting that told him there was more she wasn’t saying.
