Chapter_274
Tyler noticed the confusion in Olivia’s eyes and his tone softened. “It’s possible the phone’s been compromised. Maybe the SIM card or the device itself got damaged without you realizing it. It’s a strange coincidence, but it happens sometimes.”
Olivia hesitated, still holding the SIM card in her hand, unsure of what to do. She felt frustrated, not just because of the phone, but because of everything that had happened recently. Her mind kept drifting back to the scene with Hillary, the fight, and how out of control everything had felt.
Sensing her unease, Tyler placed a reassuring hand on the edge of the desk, his presence calm but firm. “Olivia, I know things have been overwhelming lately. But right now, I need you to focus on yourself. The rest can wait.”
She nodded slowly, still a bit disoriented. “I know… it’s just… everything feels like it’s falling apart.” Her voice trailed off, and for a brief moment, she allowed herself to show the vulnerability she had been holding in.
Tyler’s gaze softened as he studied her. “You don’t have to face it alone, Olivia. Let me handle the rest. This phone… it’s just a distraction. If it keeps breaking, we’ll get it fixed, but don’t let it add to your stress.”
He watched her as she took a deep breath and finally placed the damaged phone aside. Taking the new phone from Sofia, Olivia carefully inserted the new SIM card. “I’ll use this one for now,” she said quietly, her voice calmer than before.
Tyler nodded approvingly. “Good. It’s a fresh start, just like the new phone. Don’t let all this other stuff cloud your mind. Focus on what you can control.”
Olivia gave him a small, uncertain smile, her hands still a little shaky from the tension of the past few days. “Thanks, Tyler. I’ll try.”
Just then, Nina came in with a cup of tea, offering it to Olivia. “This should help you relax,” she said kindly. “Please take care of yourself.”
Olivia nodded and took the cup from Nina, feeling a bit more grounded. It was small, but it was something she could do to take a moment for herself amidst the chaos.
Tyler stood by the door, his expression still thoughtful but with a slight smile. “I’ll check in with you later. If you need anything else, just let me know.”
As he left, Olivia sat in the quiet room, the sound of the phone charging in front of her a small, calming reminder that not everything had to be perfect. She wasn’t sure where everything was heading, but for now, she’d take things one step at a time.
