Chapter_221
Olivia hadn’t been bluffing. With the Skyes gone, ownership of the Chateau Hotel had officially passed into her hands.
But trouble wasn’t far behind. Hidden-Ghost Juggernaut was part of the Nihon clan—a group expressly banned from stepping foot inside the Chateau. The hotel had long upheld a strict rule: no members of the Nihon clan allowed. The crowd that had gathered quickly scattered, wary of the brewing tension.
Meanwhile, footage of the martial arts clash between the Ihara Martial Arts School and the Hero Martial Arts School had gone viral online. Public sentiment was divided. The Hero Martial Arts School, under pressure, expelled the student responsible for dishonorable conduct. Many netizens praised the swift action, applauding the institution for upholding integrity.
Yet others were critical, accusing Zakariah of overreacting, calling him rigid and unforgiving. Though the Hero Martial Arts School managed to preserve its name, it came at a steep price.
At the Baroque branch, Hera was leading clients from the Drake Group on a tour of the production line when a message from Helena appeared on her phone. The photo attached made her heart stop. As if struck by lightning, she abandoned the tour without a word and rushed straight to the Hero Martial Arts School.
Over at the Watson Estate, Walter had already caught wind of the incident. His face darkened as he placed a call.
The line clicked. Kai’s voice came through, cold and indifferent.
“Anything you need?”
Walter didn’t bother with pleasantries. “Were you involved in what happened to the Zabels?”
“What does a fight between martial arts schools have to do with me?”
Walter’s tone dropped, steely and sharp. “This is a warning—stay away from Simon Lane. If you get burned, no one will be able to save you.”
Zakariah, after all, wasn’t just anyone. He was president of the Jonford Martial Arts Association, a close acquaintance of Stellar, commander of the Northern Territory Army, and protector of Phillix, the warden of the Northern Territory. More crucially, his granddaughter Skadi was close friends with Nash’s girlfriend. During the competition, Nash had openly defended the Zabels. That alone showed where his loyalties lay.
Now Skadi was critically injured, her life hanging by a thread. There was no doubt—Nash Calcraft would not take this lightly. A storm was gathering in Jonford.
At that very moment, Kai lounged by the pool at Royal Bay Villa, enjoying a luxurious meal with Simon and Duncan. Helena, cheerful and attentive, poured wine for him.
Duncan pushed his glasses up his nose, a glint of satisfaction in his eyes. “Skadi was hit in the heart by a stage-nine Energy Cultivation Realm practitioner. Not even a god could save her now. Given how close she and Hera are, I bet Hera’s a mess. Nash too.”
He raised his glass in Simon’s direction. “Cheers to Mr. Simon Lane—for avenging us.”
They had lost more than four billion because of Nash. Blood, in their view, was the only acceptable repayment.
Simon chuckled. “I didn’t do it for you. Nash Calcraft thought he could mess with my Green Bamboo Association and walk away unscathed? He brought this on himself.”
Just as he set his wine glass down, Simon’s phone buzzed on the table. The caller ID lit up: his grandfather.
“Grandpa?” Simon answered. “Need something?”
“Find a private place,” Howard’s deep voice ordered.
Simon stepped away from the table and moved to a quiet corner. “Alright. Go ahead.”
Howard was calm, but firm. “When you deal with Nash, don’t go in alone. Drag the other families down with him.”
Simon frowned. “Grandpa, you’re overthinking this. With six Juggernauts from our Green Bamboo Association, we can easily wipe him out.”
Howard’s voice turned cold. “Just follow my instructions. No more backtalk.”
Simon let out a breath. “Understood.”
Getting the Lees involved might prove difficult—they had sided with Nash. But Kai and Duncan were already knee-deep in this. They wanted Nash gone even more than Simon did. And as for the little girl from the Zell family… dragging her in wouldn’t change much either way.
Simon returned to the table and resumed his seat.
Suddenly, Kai leaned in. “Simon, can you take out Bianca in this afternoon’s boxing match?”
Simon gave a confident nod. “No problem.”
Wanda York, the Grim-Faced Juggernaut’s granddaughter, had been trained by none other than the legendary King of Fighters, Thorson. If she entered the world boxing championship, she’d no doubt take this year’s Golden Belt.
Kai smirked. “Then I’ll skip today’s match. In a few days, I’m planning a little overseas getaway—with Helena.”
