Chapter_229
Wanda had long considered herself untouchable, the undisputed champion in the world of women’s boxing. She had even dared to claim that she would be the next Mike Thorson—until Bianca had proven her wrong with a single, devastating punch. The force of it shattered her arrogance and revealed just how delusional she had been. Now, in the aftermath of defeat, Wanda saw Mike’s image overlap with Bianca’s. Perhaps Bianca truly was the next Mike Thorson—just as fierce, just as skilled.
The world of boxing, once so easy for Wanda to navigate, had become a harsh, unforgiving place. She had been beaten, overwhelmingly and devastatingly, by someone she had underestimated. And as she lay on the ground, gasping for breath, the bitter realization hit her hard: Bianca was her superior.
Bianca, standing tall and victorious, looked down at Wanda with an air of quiet superiority. “People practice taekwondo to strengthen their bodies and temper their wills, not to kill,” she said coolly, her voice cutting through the stillness of the ring. “If you’re going to kill someone, you’d better prepare yourself to get killed too.”
With that, Bianca turned and walked out of the octagonal cage, leaving behind a defeated Wanda, who could only stare in disbelief. The cheers of the Neo Power Club members echoed in the background, but Bianca paid them little attention. She was already focused on the next steps.
She took off her gloves and tossed them to Rose, who had been standing guard just outside. The club members gathered around her, celebrating her victory, but Bianca remained composed. Her thoughts were already shifting, and she knew she couldn’t stay in one place for long.
The Grim-Faced Juggernaut, who had seen her protege so thoroughly crushed, quickly arranged for Wanda to be carried out of the ring. She left shortly thereafter, along with her group, her mind filled with thoughts of revenge. In the business car downstairs, Simon’s voice echoed with frustration.
“Nash crossed the line! How dare he attack the Grim-Faced Juggernaut?” he roared, his face red with anger. “Does he really think the Green Bamboo Association is a pushover?”
His words weren’t meant for the Grim-Faced Juggernaut, who had been silently massaging Wanda’s swollen face with a salve. They were meant to stoke the flames of hatred. Simon’s eyes burned with a singular focus: Nash Calcraft. He would make him pay, just as he would make sure that Bianca, who had been responsible for Wanda’s current state, paid as well. There was no escape from the fate Simon had in store for her.
The Grim-Faced Juggernaut’s teeth gritted as Simon spoke. “I won’t return to Sagen until Nash Calcraft is dead!” she vowed, her words cold with fury. The thought of being humiliated by a mere boxer—one so much younger than her—was unbearable.
Simon’s voice dropped to a whisper, as he added, “And I won’t let Bianca go. Not after what she did to Wanda.” He had made deals, alliances. He had received money from Kai and Duncan to make sure that Bianca, along with others, would be dealt with. If she wasn’t dead, he would be held accountable.
The Grim-Faced Juggernaut narrowed her eyes and coldly responded, “My granddaughter’s matters have nothing to do with you.”
Meanwhile, back at the Neo Power Club, Bianca was basking in the afterglow of her victory. Her club members praised her relentlessly, calling her unbeatable, invincible.
“Wanda’s face is so swollen, her own mother might not recognize her!” one of them joked.
“Hahaha, Bianca is unstoppable! That Sagen champion didn’t even stand a chance!” another laughed.
As the adulation flowed, Bianca allowed herself a small, satisfied smile. She had proven herself once again. She had earned her place at the top.
But then, her gaze shifted to Nash, who was standing nearby. She walked up to him shyly, a rare softness in her expression. “Coach Calcraft,” she asked, her voice tentative. “How was my performance today?”
Nash gave her a brief, but approving nod. “Great.”
It was simple, but to Bianca, those words meant everything. Nash was known for his high standards, and if he said she had done well, it was the highest form of praise.
“Have the others go home,” Nash instructed. “I want you to follow me to the Zabels’ residence after that.” He was concerned about the fallout from the match, and wanted to lay low for now. He didn’t want anyone to be implicated in what had happened.
Bianca nodded, about to leave when her thoughts turned to Skadi. “Skadi went to participate in a martial arts competition, so I’m guessing she’s not home right now,” she remarked, pulling out her phone. “I’ll call her to confirm.”
Before she could dial, she looked at Megan, who had been staring at Nash with admiration. She sighed, her patience wearing thin. “Megan, give me your phone.”
Megan snapped out of his daze, his eyes wide with starstruck wonder. “Ah, Bianca, I’m here,” he stammered, fumbling with his phone.
“Give it to me,” Bianca repeated, her tone sharp.
Megan handed it over, but Bianca didn’t even take a moment to look at it. Instead, Nash spoke up, his voice low and serious. “Go change your clothes. Don’t bother calling. Skadi’s injured, and she won’t be able to answer.”
Bianca’s eyes widened with concern. “Injured?”
Nash nodded, his face grim. “Yes. I’m afraid so.”
A slight change passed over Bianca’s features as she processed this news. For a moment, she was lost in thought, her mind racing with questions. But there was no time to dwell on it now. She quickly turned and headed for the dressing room, her steps quickening as she processed the weight of what had just been revealed.
Ten minutes later, after she had changed, they locked up the Neo Power Club and headed out. Nash had already parked the car at the Zabels’ villa when an unexpected encounter took place.
A familiar figure appeared—Father Cillian, standing near the entrance. His presence signaled that whatever came next, it would be far from simple.
Would you like to explore the conversation between Nash and Father Cillian, or focus on Bianca’s next steps?
