Chapter_255
Olivia walked calmly towards her bodyguard and whispered under her breath, “Send the surveillance footage to Nash.”
The bodyguard, a silent figure who had always been efficient, nodded and quickly left to handle the task.
Half an hour later, Olivia’s phone buzzed with an incoming call. She glanced at the screen—it was Nash. She pressed the speakerphone button, her heart steady despite the tension in the air.
Nash’s voice came through, cool and composed as always. “I’ve been informed about what’s happened. I’ll give Kai Watson one more chance. If he insists on making his death wish come true, not even God can save him!”
The line went silent as Nash ended the call before Olivia could respond.
It wasn’t the answer she expected, but it was the one she understood. Nash was a man of few words, and when he made a decision, it was final. But because Walter had come to him, confessed, and asked for mercy, he had chosen to show some leniency. Olivia couldn’t help but feel a touch of respect for him. Nash understood the value of honesty and the importance of second chances—especially when it came to matters of the heart, even if that heart was a little too stubborn.
Walter, still kneeling and overwhelmed with emotion, heard Nash’s response and began sobbing once more. “Olivia… thank you… Please, thank Nash for me!” His voice was thick with gratitude, and his hands shook as he bowed his head to her.
Olivia, though moved by his words, remained composed. She simply nodded, “I will. You have a chance now, Walter. Make sure Kai understands the gravity of this.”
Walter wiped his tears away, then reached for a folder beside him. “This is the development rights for Wallis District. I’m giving them to you as promised.”
Olivia took the documents without hesitation. As her fingers brushed over the paper, she couldn’t help but feel the weight of what was being offered. It was more than just a piece of land—it was the key to her family’s future, the opportunity for her to fulfill her grandfather’s wish, and a chance to repay the Watson family for their support.
However, one question lingered in her mind, and she couldn’t resist asking. “Mr. Watson… Does your grandson truly have feelings for Helena?”
Walter paused, clearly caught off guard by the question. “I don’t usually involve myself in their personal affairs,” he said slowly. “But… Kai has never brought any of his girlfriends home. Helena is the first. So, I believe there’s something more there.”
Olivia didn’t reply immediately. She didn’t need to. The unspoken truth in Walter’s words was enough. Kai had always been unpredictable, but his attachment to Helena seemed different. Whether that love would be enough to keep him out of trouble, however, remained to be seen.
Meanwhile, in Royal Bay, Kai Watson sat slouched in the passenger seat of Helena’s car, visibly intoxicated. His words slurred as he raged, “F*ck you, Nash Calcraft… I’m going to kill you!”
Helena, trying to support his weight, grimaced in pain as she helped him out of the car and toward the mansion. She knew Kai’s temper was volatile, especially after the confrontation with Nash, but this behavior was out of control.
When they reached the entrance, they saw something unexpected: several bodyguards were busy changing the locks on the doors.
Helena’s eyes narrowed in confusion and anger. “What are you doing?” she demanded, her voice loud with frustration.
The guards ignored her, continuing their task with impassive precision.
“Hey! Are you deaf? I’m asking you a question!” Helena’s hand shot out to grab one of the guards, but he calmly pushed her aside.
“This building is now seized,” the guard said, his voice cold and indifferent. “It will remain sealed for the next three years.”
Helena recoiled, her shock evident. “What? Who did this?”
“Mr. Walter, of course,” the guard answered, a cruel gleam in his eye. “Kai’s grandfather decided it was time to discipline his favorite grandson. Seems like he’s getting a taste of his own medicine.”
Helena stood there, frozen, as the gravity of the situation sank in. She could barely process the words. “No… this can’t be happening. Kai has always been Mr. Watson’s favorite! There’s no way he would have done this to him!”
But the reality was unmistakable. The house—the symbol of Kai’s wealth and privilege—was now off-limits to him, a cold reminder of the consequences of his actions.
“Open the door, now!” Helena demanded, trying to force her way through. “Or I’ll call the police!”
The guard simply shrugged. “Go ahead. It won’t change anything. This place is sealed. Mr. Watson has made his decision.”
Helena’s mind raced. This was no longer about her or Kai’s relationship. It was a direct message from Walter—a warning that no one, not even his favorite grandson, was above the rules.
Kai was still too drunk to fully grasp the situation, but the look on Helena’s face said it all. His world was starting to unravel, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
