Chapter 130
Skadi’s voice was filled with excitement as she shared details about the Dragon Might Boxing Center. “This place is owned by Jonford’s wealthiest man, Walter Watson,” she explained, her eyes reflecting both envy and awe. “They host two major competitions every year—the men’s Tiger Crown Championship and the women’s Phoenix Crown Championship.”
She paused for a moment, her expression becoming more animated. “The crowns are made from five kilograms of pure gold and embedded with nine diamonds. They’re worth around 700 grand each! And the cash prize? Half a million! No wonder boxers from all over the country come to compete!”
Hera, still holding Skadi’s arm, glanced at her with curiosity. “Didn’t you train in boxing for a while? Why didn’t you sign up for this?” she asked, genuinely interested.
Nash, with a teasing smile, chimed in, “If a martial arts champion like you entered the Phoenix Crown Championship, the title would definitely be yours.”
Skadi raised an eyebrow at Nash, sensing the playful tone in his words. “Boxing and martial arts are completely different,” she replied, her voice firm. “And as a Drakonio, with my grandfather being in the Martial Arts Association, I need to focus on promoting Drakonio’s martial arts.”
She glanced away for a moment, a tinge of frustration in her voice. “I did train in boxing for a while, but after eight months, I was still just an amateur. I couldn’t even last a round sparring with my best friend. My grandfather strictly forbade me from continuing.”
With the conversation shifting, they arrived at the elevator. Two beautiful women standing outside greeted them warmly, pressing the button to call the lift.
“Welcome!” one of the women said, a bright smile on her face.
“Bienvenida!” the other added, her accent clear and welcoming.
The Dragon Might Boxing Center was truly international in its scope, and the diverse staff reflected that.
The elevator doors slid open to reveal a striking woman standing inside. Her tall, imposing figure was draped in a black trench coat, with her jet-black hair pulled into a neat ponytail. Tight jeans and knee-high boots completed her look. She stood confidently with two muscular, dark-skinned bodyguards on either side. The two men were enormous, their bulging muscles and towering height giving off a presence that made everyone in the vicinity instinctively step back.
Skadi’s eyes widened with recognition. “Bianca… What a coincidence!” she exclaimed, her face lighting up.
The woman in the elevator, Bianca Lawson, glanced at Skadi with a cold, sharp gaze. Upon hearing Skadi’s voice, her expression softened, though her cool demeanor remained. “Skadi… why are you here?” she asked, her tone less frosty now.
Skadi smiled and replied, “Hera and I came specifically to watch your match!”
Bianca’s eyes shifted to Hera, who was standing next to Nash. “Ms. Lewis, long time no see!” she said, her voice warmer now.
Hera blinked in surprise. “H-Hello, Ms. Bianca… You… You actually remember me?” she stammered, nervous but touched. She had met Bianca a few times at Skadi’s parties but hadn’t expected the rising boxing star to remember her.
Skadi laughed, a hint of affection in her voice. “Of course, Bianca remembers you! You’re my best friend, and she’s also my best friend. It’s only natural!”
Turning to Bianca, Skadi introduced her companions. “Bianca, this is Hera’s fiancé, Nash Calcraft… He—”
Before she could finish, a voice from outside the elevator interrupted. “Are you people going down or not?” A man’s voice, clearly impatient, sounded from the hall.
The two muscular bodyguards in the elevator turned their heads sharply toward the intruder, their gaze so intense that the man stumbled backward in fear. He swallowed hard, his nervousness palpable.
Skadi, amused by the reaction, laughed and said, “Let’s go down first, then we can talk more later!”
The group entered the elevator, and the doors closed behind them. As they descended to basement level nine, the elevator buzzed with the excitement of what was to come.
When they reached the bottom floor, a group of female fans waiting outside immediately raised their phones, eager to capture a photo of Bianca. Media reporters rushed forward to ask questions, their cameras flashing as they surrounded her.
Bianca stepped out with the same icy composure she always maintained, though her eyes softened slightly when she spotted her friends. The atmosphere was electric, and the anticipation in the air was palpable as the Phoenix Crown Championship loomed just ahead.
