Chapter 184
Hera closed her mouth, shaking her head vigorously, her resistance evident.
“Hey now, be good,” Nash said gently, his deep, magnetic voice making her heart flutter just a little. She looked into his serious expression, feeling the sincerity in his gaze, and reluctantly opened her mouth.
Outside the villa, in the Royal Bay district, Skadi and Bianca walked side by side, taking in the sight of the extravagant villas around them. Their eyes were full of admiration and longing.
“Skadi, your grandfather is the head of the Martial Arts Association. He should be qualified to buy a villa in Royal Bay, right?” Bianca asked, genuinely curious.
“He is,” Skadi replied, pouting slightly, “but our family doesn’t have that much money!”
Bianca grinned, her eyes sparkling with ambition. “When I get the Golden Belt, I’ll buy a villa in Royal Bay myself!”
The Golden Belt was her goal. With it, she would become a known figure in the boxing world, and her fame would surely bring in lucrative endorsements, enough to live a comfortable life and afford such a villa.
The two of them arrived at the front of Hera’s villa as they continued their conversation. Through the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, they could see Nash feeding Hera fish stew.
Bianca’s smile grew wider. “Let’s wait outside. We wouldn’t want to go in and be third wheels.”
Skadi frowned. “It’s over. Nash has taken our dear Hera from us. We’re going to fall out of favor,” she said, her tone exaggeratedly morose.
Bianca gave her a teasing look. “You should get a boyfriend too, then.”
Skadi clenched her fists. “When I find Smiling Grim Reaper, I must marry him.”
Bianca rolled her eyes, her patience thinning. “He’s a killer with blood on his hands. Even if you find him, can you sleep at night? What if he sleepwalks one day and kills you?”
Skadi smirked. “It would be a great honor for me to die at the Smiling Grim Reaper’s hands!”
Bianca couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s true. Those who die at his hands are, after all, some of the most ruthless, notorious people.”
After a moment of playful banter, Nash came out with Hera, and she immediately linked her arm with his as they walked toward the entrance.
Upon seeing Skadi and Bianca standing outside, Hera straightened up and greeted them, her tone filled with surprise. “Skadi, Bianca, when did you guys arrive? Why didn’t you come in and have a seat?”
Skadi crossed her arms and huffed. “Why would we? Do you think we’d like to be third wheels?”
Nash grinned and replied, “Didn’t you enjoy that before? What’s with the sudden change?”
It was a known fact that Skadi never minded being the third wheel during their previous outings, so her sudden reluctance struck him as odd.
Skadi scrunched up her nose. “That’s not true!”
Hera chuckled and asked, “Did you two come looking for me?”
Bianca nodded. “Skadi was worried you might be feeling upset, so we came to check on you.”
“I’m fine,” Hera replied with a reassuring smile. “Grandpa definitely wants me to be happy where he is, so I’m happy.”
Skadi clicked her tongue, noticing Hera’s thin frame. “Tsk, you’ve lost so much weight!”
She turned to Nash, her voice laced with disapproval. “You loser of a man, how are you taking care of Hera? You’ve let her starve until she’s this thin!”
Hera quickly defended him. “Don’t blame Nash. I just haven’t had much of an appetite these last couple of days,” she explained.
Skadi scoffed. “Tsk, I knew you’d speak up for this loser! You were like this even before you two got married, and now look at you!”
Before the conversation could escalate further, the sound of footsteps interrupted. Angelica and Jupiter, dressed casually, quickly approached the group.
“Mr. Calcraft,” Angelica called out with a friendly smile, her eyes scanning the scene as she joined the group.
