Chapter 159
Wendy stood frozen, her mouth hanging agape as she stared at Sienna in disbelief. There was absolutely nothing about the man before her that suggested he was the owner of a black-and-gold membership card. The idea seemed impossible. Was there some mistake?
Sienna, sensing Wendy’s confusion, quickly moved her assistant behind her and bowed deeply to Nash. “Greetings, honorable Mr. Calcraft. You are one of the Chateau Hotel’s platinum-level members, and I will be hosting you and your friends for dinner tonight!”
The words hit like a thunderclap.
Kai, Queenie, and the Lee family were stunned. Their mouths fell open in shock, eyes wide in disbelief. The realization hit them hard: instead of hosting Kai and Helena, Sienna would be hosting Nash and Hera instead.
Harrison and Rooney stood motionless, as if frozen in place. Hera, Skadi, and Bianca all clapped their hands to their mouths, unable to believe what they had just heard.
Time seemed to stand still, and the room was so silent that even the smallest sound seemed amplified. A pin could have dropped, and it would have sounded like a roar.
Nash, too, was caught off guard. He hadn’t realized that platinum memberships were so much more prestigious than the premium ones. It was all a lot more than he had expected.
“That’s impossible…” Rooney muttered, his voice shaky with disbelief.
“That’s impossible…” he repeated, his voice rising as he stumbled backward, trying to grasp the situation. “You’ve made a mistake, Sienna! It’s my daughter’s birthday today! You should be hosting my daughter, Helena!”
In a fit of denial, he rushed over to Sienna and grabbed her by the wrist, attempting to drag her toward where his daughter was standing. He couldn’t accept that Hera, not Helena, was the one who would be receiving this prestigious honor.
Wendy, however, wasn’t having any of it. She frowned and stepped forward, pushing Rooney aside. Despite her small frame, she effortlessly sent him flying backward.
Rooney weighed more than two hundred pounds, but Wendy, though petite, had enough strength to send him tumbling. George, seeing the commotion, stepped forward to catch Rooney mid-air and gently placed him back on the ground.
Staring at Wendy in shock, George’s thoughts raced. She was young, far younger than he had expected someone with such formidable skills to be. Could she possibly be from one of the ancient martial arts families of Capiton?
Meanwhile, Helena grabbed Kai’s sleeve in confusion. “Kai… w-what’s going on?” she stammered. “Wasn’t it supposed to be you—the esteemed guest? Why is it Nash instead?”
If Nash was the esteemed guest, that would mean Hera was the one receiving the birthday celebration. This wasn’t what anyone had expected.
Kai sighed and stepped forward, facing Sienna with a calm yet concerned expression. “Ms. Sienna, have you made a mistake? I’m the one with the premium membership card.”
Sienna, who was still maintaining her composed demeanor, responded without hesitation. “I have not made a mistake, Mr. Watson. I only host guests who hold platinum membership cards.” Her tone was sharp, almost cold now. “The card you have is a mere premium membership. Premium members are not eligible to have A-list celebrities as their hosts.”
Kai’s eyes narrowed in frustration, disbelief still clouding his mind. “I’ve never heard of the Chateau Hotel offering such a platinum membership card.”
Sienna’s expression remained calm. “Only twelve of these cards exist. The three most powerful ancient martial arts families in Capiton, the four wardens, and the leaders of the four superpower countries each own one. The remaining two are held by Francis Dunn, the Phoenix messenger, and Mr. Nash Calcraft.”
At this revelation, Rooney nearly collapsed in shock. His face turned ashen as the weight of Sienna’s words sank in.
Kai shook his head in disbelief. “Impossible! Even if the Chateau Hotel did produce platinum cards, there’s no way Nash would have one…”
Nash, clearly enjoying the moment, took the black-and-gold membership card from his wallet. A smug smile curved his lips as he casually showed the card to the group. “So, turns out this card is pretty fancy,” he said with a chuckle.
He hadn’t expected the Chateau Hotel to hand him the platinum card when he had simply asked Theo for a diamond card. But here he was, holding the highest level of hospitality that could be granted.
With a casual air, Nash turned to Sienna, who was still standing tall. “Ms. Hera Lewis will be celebrating her birthday at the Chateau Hotel today. No outside guests will be entertained, and I kindly ask that you clear the premises of anyone who’s not part of the celebration.”
His tone was authoritative, his presence undeniable. The power behind his words was clear to everyone in the room. It was no longer about whose birthday it was; it was about who held the cards—and Nash Calcraft held the winning one.
