Chapter 156
It was dinner time, and everyone who was meant to be present had arrived. The stage was set for Hera’s surprise, and the evening’s atmosphere was charged with anticipation.
Bianca maintained a calm expression, her demeanor unruffled despite the growing excitement. She knew that in the boxing world, Nash was a legend, known as McNash, the father of all boxers. It was no surprise to her that he had been able to reserve a private room at the prestigious Chateau Hotel.
But for Harrison, the revelation was a shock. His eyes widened as he turned to Nash. “Nashy… did… Did you really reserve a room at the Chateau Hotel?”
Lauren, usually reserved, stayed silent, though a faint, almost imperceptible smile tugged at the corner of her lips. It was as if she had already seen through everything.
Hera, however, looked uneasy. Her elegant eyebrows furrowed in concern as she turned to Nash. “Nash, you should cancel your reservation.”
Despite the grandeur of the Chateau Hotel, where Nash had secured a private room for them, Hera couldn’t shake the feeling that Helena’s family would find a way to mock them. She didn’t like comparing herself to others, but could anyone truly avoid it? Helena had always bullied her, and Hera had worked tirelessly to build her own company, hoping that one day she would rise above Helena’s success and earn her grandfather’s attention.
Would the words “envy” and “jealousy” even exist if no one ever compared themselves to others?
Nash, however, saw right through her hesitation. With a gentle smile, he reassured her, “Let’s not overthink things and head in to have dinner instead. Besides, private room reservations at the Chateau Hotel can’t be canceled on a whim.”
His words calmed her slightly, though she still felt apprehensive. He didn’t even know which level of membership his card entitled him to. The Chateau Hotel’s premium membership was marked by a purple card, but Nash’s was black and gold — something much rarer, and perhaps even more exclusive.
A sigh escaped Hera’s lips as she resigned herself to the situation. She was ready for the inevitable mockery from Helena’s family, but there was no turning back now.
As they arrived at the entrance to the private dining area, Bianca stopped in her tracks. “Skadi, Hera, there’s something else I need to take care of, so I’ll take my leave now!” she said, her tone more tentative than usual.
Hera immediately grabbed Bianca’s arm. “No, Bianca, you can’t leave!” she pleaded. Bianca was one of her heroes, and Hera couldn’t let the chance to have dinner with her slip away.
“Is there anything more important than Hera’s birthday?” Skadi asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Bianca hesitated, then muttered, “My… my stomach doesn’t feel well…”
The truth was, she hadn’t known it was Hera’s birthday, and being somewhat embarrassed by their lack of a closer friendship, she hadn’t prepared a gift. Attending Hera’s birthday party felt like a misstep.
Hera, however, wasn’t having any of it. With a playful smile, she quipped, “Nash is a doctor. He can cure any ailment you have!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she looked at Nash with a mischievous gleam in her eye. Nash, however, merely glanced at her and replied calmly, “Nothing’s wrong with her. She’s in good health…”
Skadi, not missing a beat, linked arms with Bianca and smirked. “Hera is your coach’s girlfriend. How do you expect him to continue coaching you in boxing when you won’t even attend his girlfriend’s birthday party?”
Bianca, already on the edge, finally gave in, and with a resigned sigh, she agreed to stay.
As they entered the hotel lobby, the scene that greeted them caused their collective jaws to drop. Helena and the others were gathered around a stunning girl dressed in a maid outfit, posing for photos.
Carmen, standing beside Charles, braced herself against his shoulder to get a better view. Everyone else had their attention fixed on the same thing. Curious, they all stood on their tiptoes to get a glimpse.
“What are they looking at?” Laura asked, her voice filled with intrigue.
“Oh my god!” Skadi gasped, nearly stumbling backward from sheer excitement. “It’s Sienna Lowe, the current biggest star in the entertainment industry!”
“And… and she’s wearing a maid outfit!” Skadi added, barely able to contain herself.
The others, equally stunned, reacted with equal fervor.
“Holy crap, I’m in love!” Skadi declared, her enthusiasm almost palpable.
“I can’t believe it… It’s Sienna Lowe!” Hera exclaimed, her face flushed with excitement. It was clear she was moments away from pouncing forward to greet the famous star.
Harrison, caught up in the excitement, asked, “Do you think the Watson family invited her here?”
However, the question hit Hera like a bucket of cold water. The excited expression on her face faltered as the thought sank in. Laura, sensing the sudden shift in mood, shot a glare at Harrison.
“Why are you killing the mood?!” she snapped, her annoyance clear.
The night had barely begun, but already, it seemed that everything was about to change.
