Chapter 165
Hera’s eyes welled with tears as she held tightly onto Nash’s hand, her heart full to the brim. Warmth surged through her, so overwhelming that it rendered her momentarily speechless. She had never felt so cherished.
Soon, the table was brimming with luxurious food and fine wine. Every dish served was on par with the gourmet spread Nash had enjoyed during his dinner with Theo—each plate costing anywhere from eighteen thousand to several hundred thousand dollars.
The wines, too, were nothing short of extraordinary—vintages from the most sought-after vineyards in the world.
Sienna had spared no effort either. She invited a world-renowned piano maestro to play the birthday song, and personally poured drinks for each guest, mingling with ease and grace.
Hera’s classmates were left utterly speechless.
It was a birthday party—but it felt more like a once-in-a-lifetime event. They couldn’t help but feel as if their mere attendance here brought honor to their families.
After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, excitement sparked once again—this time for photos. Guests lined up eagerly for a chance to take pictures with Sienna and the maestro. Of course, Sienna was nothing if not accommodating. She returned to her room to change into a new gown and touch up her makeup before returning with the same radiant smile.
Wendy, who had majored in photography, stepped up to capture the night. With a professional eye and steady hands, she spent over an hour snapping pictures of smiling guests, lavish décor, and star-studded memories.
Before long, Hera’s classmates began flooding social media with their snapshots.
They bragged openly: dinner at the Chateau Hotel’s Ultimate Royalty Room, hosted by the A-list actress Sienna Lowe herself, with a live performance by a piano maestro. It was the kind of evening that turned ordinary lives into legends—at least for one night.
By ten o’clock that evening, the final surprise unfolded.
A world-class fireworks show lit up the skies above the Chateau Hotel, a spectacle so grand it could be seen from nearly every corner of Jonford.
In the rose-covered field opposite the hotel, a heart made of blooms cradled Nash and Hera in its center. The scent of roses wafted gently through the air as Hera nestled in Nash’s embrace, her eyes reflecting the kaleidoscope of lights overhead.
“Thank you, Nash…” she whispered, her voice soft and dreamy.
Tonight, she truly felt like the heroine of a fairytale.
Nash lowered his head until his chin touched her forehead, and murmured, “Did you like it?”
Hera nodded without hesitation. “Yes, of course I did. No girl could resist something this romantic.”
A playful smile tugged at Nash’s lips. “Then… how are you going to thank me?”
A shy blush colored Hera’s cheeks. “Well… how would you like to be thanked?”
Without answering, Nash suddenly dropped his shoulders, causing Hera to lose her balance. She stumbled into his arms with a startled gasp.
“Nash! What… what are you doing?”
But before she could react, he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
Her body froze. Her mind went blank.
It was her first kiss.
His lips were cool against hers, gentle and still—no urgency, no pressure, just a soft, heart-stopping moment suspended in time.
He didn’t deepen the kiss, didn’t push further.
He simply kissed her.
Hera’s breath caught in her throat. Her heart thudded so loudly in her chest that she was sure he could hear it.
Then—
“Nash… Hera…”
The sound of Skadi’s voice startled them both.
She had walked over without warning and now stood frozen, eyes wide at the sight of the two of them in an intimate embrace. “Ahem… Sorry for the interruption!” she blurted, before quickly turning away.
Reality returned in a rush. Hera sprang back from Nash, her face scarlet. She turned away, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Nash frowned slightly and gave Skadi a pointed look. “Is something wrong?”
Skadi cleared her throat. “There’s a huge truck outside. I think it’s delivering something for you.”
Her curiosity was obvious. What could Nash have possibly ordered that required such a massive truck?
Nash didn’t answer right away. Instead, he reached for Hera’s hand and helped her up with a grin.
“Come on,” he said gently. “Let’s go unwrap the present I got you.”
