Chapter 419

Tyler feigned confusion, tilting his head slightly. “What pictures?” he asked innocently.

The older man hesitated for a moment, then gestured to the host. “Turn the power back on.”

The host, reluctant but pressured by the room’s expectant gaze, walked over and flicked the switch.

Immediately, the images reappeared on the computers, just as before.

All eyes shifted to Tyler. He chuckled lightly, breaking the tension. “You scared me there for a moment. Seems like there’s been some mix-up. The Harrises and Pearces are family, after all—Claude wouldn’t make a mistake like that.” He turned to Claude, smiling warmly. “Right, Claude?”

Claude caught Tyler’s meaning but stayed composed. “Absolutely, Tyler. Good to see you here. Must be a hacking incident—those photos caused a lot of confusion.”

“Don’t worry,” Tyler added, addressing the room. “Did you think I forgot how much you care about Morgan? Now that Olivia is expecting, I haven’t properly thanked you for looking out for her, and for the thoughtful gift you sent.”

He then reassured everyone, “This is all just a misunderstanding. The rumors have no basis.”

A wave of relief spread through the room.

The older man nodded approvingly. “Glad that’s cleared up. We hope the Harris Group and Yancey Bank will handle the photos carefully to prevent further trouble.”

Tyler agreed. “Yes, that’s the plan. We’ll take care of it.” Turning back to Claude, he said, “Everything’s settled here. I’ll be on my way. Let’s catch up soon.”

Claude returned the gesture with a friendly smile and nod. “Sure, let’s have a meal together sometime.”

Tyler forced a smile in return. “Sounds good.”

He paused briefly, then left the room.

Seizing the opportunity, Lilah addressed the board. “Though the origin of those photos remains unclear, I’m confident Mr. Harris’s explanation has put doubts to rest. This isn’t what it appeared to be. As you know, Mr. Pearce is a kind and honorable man. The Harrises and Pearces will sort this out properly.”

The board members visibly relaxed, and Angus and his faction stayed silent.

Watching the calm settle, Claude realized Tyler’s true intent. This was a warning—if Claude pushed further with Olivia, he risked stirring up serious trouble for Yancey Bank.
