Chapter 481

The maid gently suggested, “Let’s go to the church tomorrow. Maybe you’ll sleep better there.”

Olivia didn’t respond, her gaze distant and vacant.

The next day, Alisa accompanied her to the church. Worried, Maisy had sent someone along for extra support.

Olivia had left home because Maisy insisted, but the heavy weight of sadness still pressed on her heart.

Pearl sat beside Olivia in the car, silently observing her friend’s quiet melancholy. She assumed Olivia’s gloom was due to relationship troubles—everyone knew Tyler was spending most of his time at the hospital.

Trying to comfort her, Pearl said softly, “Try to look on the bright side. Don’t overthink things. Nothing in this world is perfect, but your child… that’s what truly matters.”

Olivia remained silent, her head bowed low.

Alisa carefully draped a blanket over Olivia’s shoulders to keep her warm.

As the car left the town behind, the scenery grew lush and green. Another vehicle followed closely, packed with bodyguards. They all arrived together at the church.

Coincidentally, Sophie was also there, searching for Claude. After looking around the hall, she was told he had already left.

Not wanting to leave empty-handed, Sophie stepped out of the main hall toward the church’s front entrance.

It was Saturday, and the church was bustling with visitors. Amid the crowd, Sophie spotted a familiar figure—it was Olivia.

Uncertain at first, Sophie’s doubt vanished once they reached a quieter corner.

“Olivia,” Sophie called softly.

At the sound of her name, several heads turned toward the main hall, confirming Sophie’s suspicion.

Seeing Olivia’s pale face, Sophie approached with concern. “What happened, Olivia?”

Caught off guard, Olivia hesitated, then answered quietly, “I came here to pray.”

Her voice carried a faint trace of exhaustion.

“You don’t look well.”

“I’ve been having trouble sleeping.”

Sophie glanced around, noticing Olivia’s maids and bodyguards nearby. “Do you need to go to the hospital? You look very pale.”

Olivia forced a faint smile. “I’m really fine. Just need some rest. Don’t worry about me.”

Sophie hesitated, wanting to say more, but Olivia interrupted gently, “We should go.”

Then, suddenly remembering something, Olivia asked, “How is Jacob?”

Sophie blinked, surprised by the question.

Realizing she might have overstepped, Olivia quickly added, “It’s nothing. Just… keep an eye on him. I don’t want my problems to affect your relationship.”

“Your problems? What problems?” Sophie asked quietly.
