Chapter 474
Ana awoke early, settling onto the couch with a candle flickering softly on the table beside her. Moments later, the spy she had hired arrived quietly and delivered his report.
“Ma’am, Ms. Olivia had a high fever last night. Mr. Tyler tended to her throughout the night after returning from the fishing village,” he reported.
A smile curved Ana’s lips as her eyes remained fixed on the dancing flame. “So, they spent the night together?”
The spy nodded. “Yes, Ma’am. Her fever has since subsided.”
Ana’s spirits lifted. “Continue monitoring them closely.”
“Understood, Ma’am.”
Olivia was stirred awake by the shrill ring of her phone. The fever had broken, and with a clearer mind, she reached for the device. Seeing the caller ID, she hesitated before answering.
“Aren’t you awake yet?” Ana’s voice was softer than the day before.
“Yes, Mom,” Olivia replied cautiously.
“And Tyler?” Ana asked, her tone gentle but probing.
Unsure how to explain Tyler’s absence, Olivia faltered.
“I’ve arranged breakfast. Share it with Tyler,” Ana said firmly.
Olivia bit her lip nervously.
“I’m trying to mend things between you two. Don’t miss this chance. If you ignore me again, be ready to face the consequences.”
Olivia’s heart skipped a beat at the warning.
“Okay,” she murmured.
Satisfied, Ana ended the call promptly.
The moment Olivia hung up, her expression darkened.
Still feeling weak, she rested a while longer before mustering the strength to rise. Just as she moved toward the door, the doorbell rang.
Wrapped in a blanket, Olivia approached and opened it to find a maid holding a package.
“Ma’am, Ms. Ana sent this from home,” the maid said politely.
Olivia was taken aback—Ana had sent a maid all the way here. She accepted the food container and replied, “Thank you.”
“I won’t disturb you or Mr. Tyler, then,” the maid added before leaving.
Olivia pursed her lips, contemplating her next move. She decided to freshen up first.
Later, carrying the food, Olivia wandered down the corridor aimlessly, uncertain of Tyler’s room number.
Suddenly, a voice called out, “Ma’am.”
Turning, Olivia saw Camilla approaching.
“Do you feel better?” Camilla asked, noticing Olivia’s unease.
Olivia ignored the question and asked instead, “Which room is… Tyler staying in?”
Camilla’s gaze shifted thoughtfully, sensing something amiss. Noticing what Olivia carried, she smiled knowingly.
“Mr. Tyler is staying right next door.”
