Chapter 443
Olivia gave a soft hum of agreement as Ana’s eyes followed Tyler and her up the stairs, her face relaxing ever so slightly.
At the top of the stairs, Alisa greeted them. “Mr. Tyler, the lights in the study are broken, and they can’t be fixed tonight. Ms. Ana said you should sleep in the bedroom instead.”
Olivia glanced up, surprised, while Alisa quickly looked away.
After a pause, Tyler simply replied, “Alright,” and headed toward the bedroom.
Olivia stole a glance back, catching Ana’s gaze from the living room. Her look seemed to silently say, “Take this chance.”
Tightening her fingers around her own wrist, Olivia lowered her eyes and stepped into the bedroom under Ana’s watchful presence.
It had been a long time since they’d shared this room, yet the bed was neatly made, a subtle sign of Ana’s involvement.
Tyler quietly shed his coat and said without meeting Olivia’s eyes, “It’s late. Go to sleep,” before turning to take a shower.
The awkwardness of being alone together in the same room weighed on Olivia. She knew they would share the bed tonight, but the thought made her hesitate to leave the room.
Taking a few deep breaths, she slowly began preparing for bed. After Tyler disappeared into the bathroom, Olivia changed her clothes and took her time.
By the time she emerged, it was already past 1 a.m.
Tyler was reading in bed but set his book aside when he saw her. “Try to get some sleep,” he murmured, rubbing his temple before lying back down.
Olivia wondered why he had returned when he’d planned to stay at Sandalwood Palace. Was he worried Ana might be upset with her? Or was she just overthinking everything? It was hard to tell.
She dried her hair carefully and applied cream to her stomach—a ritual she hoped would help with stretch marks after pregnancy.
Almost asleep, Tyler opened his eyes and noticed Olivia hadn’t yet slipped under the covers. He saw her gently applying the cream.
Startled, Olivia hurriedly pulled her shirt down to cover her belly and brushed her hair away from her face.
Finally, she slid into bed but didn’t dare pull the blanket over herself.
She glanced sideways at Tyler and saw his broad back turned to her, his figure still and distant.
