Chapter 487
Claude nodded slightly, then turned his gaze toward Olivia.
She met his eyes, and the sadness reflected in her expression softened him. He hadn’t expected her condition to decline so sharply in just a few days. He squinted thoughtfully, struggling to keep his emotions in check.
After a moment, Claude composed himself and asked, “What’s wrong with Olivia?”
All eyes turned to him in surprise.
Maisy hadn’t expected the question either, but knowing their friendship, she answered, “She can’t sleep—probably just pregnancy-related insomnia. She’ll be fine.”
Claude offered, “I know a specialist who can help with that.”
Maisy’s interest was immediately piqued. “Where is he?”
“He’s a renowned doctor. You should have Olivia visit him.”
Maisy rose and said, “Great. Please give me his number. I’ll have someone contact him.”
Claude nodded and took out a pen and paper. As Alisa handed him a sheet, he jotted down the details.
Maisy glanced at the note and said, “Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it. Olivia’s pregnancy makes good sleep crucial. Let me know if you need anything else.”
Claude said no more, so Maisy gestured politely, “Since you brought the cake and we’ve spoken, I think it’s time you left.”
“Of course. I wish you all the best.”
Maisy nodded, signaling the butler to escort him out.
Claude cast one last somber glance at Olivia before following the butler. His eyes flickered with a heavy sadness.
He took a deep breath to steady himself before leaving the house.
Olivia was unsure why Claude had come unannounced. The family hadn’t expected him. After he left, she drifted back into silence.
Trusting the doctor Claude recommended, Maisy arranged for Olivia to visit him the following day.
When Olivia arrived at the clinic, a nurse said apologetically, “Only the patient is allowed in the consultation room.”
The butler and Alisa waited outside, and Olivia didn’t mind—she was there to treat her insomnia.
Suddenly, a firm hand grasped hers, and the door shut behind her with a thud.
Outside, the butler heard the slam and glanced toward the door, exchanging confused looks with Alisa at the sudden silence.
Inside, Olivia was slightly breathless as she stared nervously at the man who had grabbed her hand.
Claude’s face was only inches from hers. He whispered, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
Meanwhile, Tyler hurried back from Vahari.
The city was freezing cold. His assistant followed closely behind, holding his black coat.
“Are you heading to the hospital, Mr. Tyler?”
“At the Harris residence,” Tyler replied curtly.
His unexpected return caught everyone off guard.
At the Harris residence, Maisy greeted him as he arrived.
“You’re back.”
Tyler’s gaze immediately sought Olivia. “Where is she?”
Maisy was surprised by the question. “She’s been suffering from severe insomnia lately, so I arranged for the butler to take her to a specialist.”
“Insomnia?”
Tyler frowned deeply, unaware of this. He had come back primarily to prevent Ana from another breakdown, but hearing Olivia was at the doctor darkened his expression.
“Which hospital?”
Maisy had kept the details from him to avoid distracting him. Now, she directed him to the hospital without hesitation.
Tyler’s worry was evident. He declined to go upstairs, instead stating firmly, “I’m going out.”
“You just got back. Shouldn’t you rest first?”
He gave no answer and got into the waiting car, instructing the driver where to go.
As the car sped off, Tyler frowned deeply, his eyes fixed on the passing window, lost in thought.
