Chapter 448
“Jacob!” Sophie called as she walked toward him. They exchanged a glance before getting into the car.
“So, what did he say to you?” Sophie asked eagerly.
Jacob recalled Claude’s expression when Olivia came up and frowned slightly—but then quickly smiled. “Your brother is a really nice guy. He’s gentle and treats me well.”
“Of course he is. Claude is the best,” Sophie responded with warmth.
“He didn’t seem like the man the media painted him to be. There’s no way he could have done those things to Morgan Harris,” Jacob blurted out.
“No way! That’s all nonsense!” Sophie said, frustration clear in her voice. “Someone must have set him up. No one really knows what happened that night… not even my brother.”
Jacob paused for a moment. “Aside from that, Claude also asked about Olivia.”
Sophie stared at him intently. Feeling the weight of her gaze, Jacob took her hand gently. “Look, Soof, I even took you to meet my parents! There’s no way I still have feelings for her. It’s just… Claude. I think he might, you know—”
“Claude likes her,” Sophie interrupted firmly.
Jacob fell silent for a few seconds.
“To be honest, I wouldn’t mind if Olivia became part of my family—if only she wasn’t already married into the Harris family,” Sophie said thoughtfully.
Jacob’s expression darkened slightly.
“Anyway, you can’t meet Olivia anymore, Jacob! Not even as a friend,” Sophie warned aloud. “Because Claude is… well, interested in her.”
Her words were both a reminder and a subtle warning. Yet beneath it all was Sophie’s own worry.
Jacob smiled gently. “What are you talking about? Why would I try to meet her?”
He looked deeply into her eyes, and she hugged him tightly.
Jacob drove with one arm wrapped protectively around her.
After breakfast, Tyler and his assistant left the hotel.
Linda spoke up, “Should we keep a close watch on Claude’s friend, the one who was talking about Lionel?”
“Yes. Keep an eye on him. I don’t want any surprises,” Tyler instructed.
“Understood.”
Tyler hummed softly as he got into his car.
“Ms. Naomi wants you to visit her soon,” Linda added.
Tyler thought for a moment before replying, “Alright.”
“She also said she wants a bouquet of irises.”
Tyler paused briefly. “We’ll pick some up on the way.”
“Understood.”
They headed toward the hospital.
