Chapter 492
Tyler’s tone turned firmer. “No. You’re going back to your ward.”
His voice left no room for argument. Naomi hadn’t expected such sternness. “Okay… if you say so.”
She gave one last glance toward Olivia’s room, then at Tyler, before walking away slowly, reluctant but silent.
Once she was gone, Tyler turned his cold gaze to Camilla. “What exactly did my mother do?”
Camilla’s face went pale. “She… made some threats, but didn’t act on them. I don’t know why Ms. Olivia looks so… fragile.”
Tyler’s expression darkened.
Camilla added softly, “Some women do have trouble sleeping during pregnancy. It’s usually caused by hormonal changes.”
But Tyler didn’t look convinced. He remained still, a deep unease lingering in his eyes. Something about this didn’t add up.
“I’ll keep a closer eye on her next time, Mr. Tyler,” Camilla offered, referring to the need to balance her attention between Olivia and Naomi.
Tyler didn’t respond—he simply stared ahead, thoughtful.
Inside the room, Olivia stirred.
Her arms were wrapped tightly around herself. Though she had just woken from sleep, it hadn’t felt like real rest. It was simply the effect of having fainted. Now, she felt even more alert than before—restlessness gnawed at her, a feeling growing stronger and more frightening by the day.
Alisa tried to ask if she wanted something to eat, but Olivia gave no response. Her body remained stiff, her demeanor withdrawn.
Alisa began to worry—something felt deeply wrong.
Just then, Tyler entered the room.
Startled, Alisa called out, “Sir!”
Her alarm only irritated him. “What?”
“Um… Ms. Olivia… she’s not acting normal,” Alisa said hesitantly.
Tyler frowned and turned toward the bed.
Olivia looked pale and distant, her arms still clutched around herself. Her fingers were digging into her skin as if she needed to hold herself together. Her eyes were vacant, as if she wasn’t fully present.
Tyler stormed over and seized her arms.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” he growled.
Olivia finally looked up.
Her eyes were glassy, distant.
It was as if she didn’t even recognize him.
