Chapter 479

Even Alisa noticed that Olivia wasn’t herself. Concerned, she approached her quietly one morning and asked, “What’s wrong, Ma’am? Did you have a nightmare?”

Olivia sat motionless in bed, panic flickering in her eyes. Her forehead was drenched in sweat, her face pale and drawn.

“Ma’am?” Alisa pressed gently.

Olivia stared at her silently for a moment before pulling her knees close, looking utterly lost and helpless.

Sensing her distress, Alisa sat down beside her and grasped her shoulders. “What’s the matter? Did something happen?”

“I’m scared,” Olivia whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

“Scared of what?” Alisa asked softly.

But Olivia remained silent, trembling uncontrollably.

Alarmed, Alisa asked again, “Did something frighten you?”

Olivia said nothing, burying her face deeper between her knees.

Growing frantic, Alisa hurried off to find Maisy.

Maisy was seated on the couch in her room, chatting with the maids. As usual, Ana was nearby.

Ana usually spent her days playing poker with friends or visiting the salon, but today she lingered at home, keeping Maisy company.

When Alisa entered, Maisy looked up. “What is it? Where’s Olivia?”

Alisa explained breathlessly, “Ms. Maisy, Ms. Olivia isn’t feeling well.”

“Is she sick?” Maisy jumped up, clutching a pillow tightly. “Why is she sick? Did you call the doctor?”

Alisa nodded. “I heard she had a high fever the day before she returned from Vahari. She’s been very weak since then.”

“Let’s go. We have to see what’s wrong,” Maisy insisted.

Pearl immediately moved to support her grandmother.

When Maisy entered Olivia’s room, she found her still curled up in the same position.

She approached slowly and asked, “What’s wrong, my darling? Why do you look like this?”

Olivia looked up meekly, her voice barely a whisper, “Grandma…”

Maisy’s heart clenched. She sat beside her and took Olivia’s hands gently in hers.

“What happened? Why do you look so pale?” she asked with growing concern.

Before Olivia could answer, Ana appeared at the door. Her expression went blank at the sight of Olivia’s fragile state.

A faint, secret smile flickered on Ana’s lips as she observed how pale Olivia looked.

Maisy noticed Olivia’s vacant stare toward the door and grew even more worried. “What is it, my darling? You’re scaring me.”

Turning to Ana, she said firmly, “Come here and see for yourself, Ana. What’s going on?”

Ana stepped forward reluctantly. Glancing at Olivia again, she commented, “Maybe she hasn’t fully recovered from her fever yet.”

Maisy’s worry deepened. “It’s been three or four days. How can she still be like this? Get a doctor here immediately.”
