Chapter 456

Olivia’s baby bump pressed gently against Tyler’s body.

Inside the house, Ana busied herself by the floor-to-ceiling window, arranging flowers with quiet patience. She carefully selected a fresh lily, its pristine petals a stark contrast to the sickly, wilting flower she had hoped to replace.

At first, Ana believed this young, vibrant bloom would symbolize new life and strength—something to persuade Tyler to stay home instead of spending endless hours at the hospital. But she soon realized it was her responsibility to nurture this flower, to ensure it flourished and served its purpose.

After all, wasn’t there a bud forming inside Olivia now? Everything seemed to be falling into place.

If she did not let this flower’s fragrance spread, how could she hope to attract Tyler’s attention?

Since Tyler insisted on remaining at the hospital, Ana resolved to bring the young flower to him each day.

Lost in admiration, Ana inhaled the lily’s delicate scent. It filled her with a strange joy.

“Ah, it smells heavenly,” she exclaimed softly.

The maid nearby nodded. “The lilies are exceptionally fresh. They arrived with morning dew, and most still have buds.”

Ana smiled as she gently held the blooming flower along with its unopened twin. “It’s like getting two for the price of one. Who could resist such a deal? It’s a win-win.”

“Yes,” the maid agreed. “One is in full bloom, while the other eagerly awaits its turn.”

“This is perfect,” Ana said with a grin. “Placed here, someone is bound to notice.”

Back with Tyler and Olivia, the moment Olivia fell into Tyler’s arms, she instinctively shielded her belly while he grasped her hand to steady her in panic.

The sudden movement made her lose balance, and her chin landed softly on his chest, drawing them closer still. Tentatively, she lifted her eyes to meet his.

Tyler’s face was unreadable—brow furrowed, eyes barely open—avoiding her gaze.

Olivia shivered in the chill between them and whispered, “Let me go, Tyler.”

Suddenly, he released her hand, and she quickly stepped back.

His eyes remained fixed on her, struggling to contain the unfamiliar feelings that stirred between them.

After a moment, Olivia steadied herself and stood firm.

Just then, a knock interrupted the heavy silence.

Olivia snapped her attention to the door.

“Ms. Naomi is calling, sir,” Linda’s voice came from outside.

Tyler’s clenched fists relaxed only after he held Olivia’s gaze for a long moment. “Come in,” he said.

Linda entered, holding a phone, her eyes flickering between them.

After a brief pause, she approached Tyler and handed him the phone. “Sir.”

Without hesitation, Tyler turned away to take the call.

Seeing this, Olivia quietly left the room.

Linda noticed something amiss but chose not to pry. She followed Olivia.

Downstairs, Adam waited anxiously, rushing over as Olivia arrived. “Ma’am.”

Breathing heavily, Olivia steadied herself before entering the waiting car.

Linda stepped forward to assist her carefully inside. “Be careful.”
