Chapter 469

“Those who sign later will receive luxury appliances,” Tyler continued.

Such incentives were undeniably tempting. He estimated he could sway about eighty percent of the villagers—the remaining holdouts, who had opposed the project from the very beginning, would be much harder to convince.

Camilla watched him, anxious to voice her concerns but hesitant. How could Tyler not see what she was thinking?

His voice cut through the silence, cold and resolute: “We can’t offer more to those holdouts. Just the basic compensation. It’s not worth the extra hassle. This is prime time—we’ll see if they’re willing to cooperate.”

“Understood, sir. I’ll handle everything carefully. I’ll arrange a meeting with the township government,” Camilla replied with a nod.

After his brief response, Tyler sank into thought, his mind still fixed on the project.

Suddenly, the hotel door swung open, and Adam appeared, snapping Tyler back to reality.

Yet Tyler stayed seated in the car for a moment longer.

Camilla, watching from outside, couldn’t read his expression or thoughts.

After a few moments, Tyler finally stepped out, rubbing his temples wearily as he made his way toward the lobby.

Catching up to him in the elevator, Camilla whispered, “Shall I check on Ms. Olivia, sir? She’s alone in her room.”

Tyler said nothing, letting the elevator rise in silence.

Once they reached the 23rd floor, he gave the simple instruction, “Go check on her.”
