Chapter 465
Tyler took the phone from Camilla and answered, coming to a halt when he glimpsed who stood by the door.
Ana’s voice echoed from the other end of the call.
“Tyler, Olivia wants to explore the city you’re heading to, so I convinced her to join you. She’s waiting by your car with her bags.”
Olivia stood by his car, her posture calm but betraying a hint of nervousness she tried to hide.
Tyler’s gaze remained locked on her as Ana continued speaking.
Unsure what to make of Olivia’s presence, she finally broke the silence,
“Your mother suggested I accompany you on the trip.”
He kept staring, sensing she wasn’t exactly compliant. Besides the food she had sent earlier, now Ana had pushed her into this too. His curiosity was piqued—what leverage did Ana hold over her?
Ana’s voice cut through the tension,
“Take good care of her, Tyler. Enjoy yourselves.”
With that, the call ended.
Tyler pocketed his phone and approached Olivia.
“You’re joining me on this trip?” His tone held a sharp edge. “Are you certain about that?”
Undeterred, Olivia met his gaze firmly.
“Absolutely.”
“What did she do to you?” he asked calmly, probing deeper.
Olivia avoided his eyes.
“Nothing. I won’t be a bother. Just drop me off at the airport when we arrive.”
Watching from the sidelines, Camilla felt uneasy. Olivia was like a delicate flower with unexpected strength—one who seemed to captivate Tyler effortlessly, without lifting a finger. Their complicated feelings had only grown out of necessity, for Naomi’s sake.
Suddenly, Tyler turned to Camilla.
“Arrange a taxi to take her home.”
With that, he strode past her.
But Olivia caught his arm.
“Tyler!”
Her grip stopped him in his tracks.
Pleadingly, she said,
“I promise I won’t disrupt your plans. Can’t you bring me along?”
His expression turned cold and unreadable.
In the end, Olivia went with him.
Upon arrival at the hotel, they checked in. The staff was still tidying their room when Olivia headed to the bathroom.
Camilla approached Tyler quietly,
“Shall I book another room, sir?”
They had only reserved one in advance.
Tyler’s voice remained icy.
“Find out what my mother did to persuade her to come with me.”
Camilla hadn’t thought of that. She glanced toward Olivia, wondering if Tyler feared Ana might do something harmful, given her unusual behavior earlier.
