Tyler smiled warmly. “This hotel is famous for its breakfast. I invited you all to try it with me.”
The group’s faces lit up with surprise and delight. “How could we possibly refuse?” they exclaimed in unison.
Tyler chuckled and led the lively conversation as they moved toward the dining area.
Suddenly, someone called out, “Tyler.”
The group turned around to see Claude approaching, his personal assistant trailing behind him. He was still the subject of much speculation in the news, yet his smile was calm and collected.
Tyler returned the smile, raising an eyebrow. “Claude.”
Had Claude not spoken, Tyler might have missed him altogether.
Claude stepped closer. “Funny running into you here. What a coincidence.”
Tyler studied him carefully before responding, “It is. How have you been?”
Claude’s eyes glimmered faintly. “I’m doing alright.”
“That’s good to hear. I was worried it might have knocked you down too hard.”
“Not at all. I have to keep going… for Morgan’s sake.”
“That’s a relief. Then I don’t have to worry on Morgan’s behalf.”
The group watched in confusion, glancing between the two men until Claude suddenly recognized one of them.
“Mr. Simmons?”
The man’s surprise was clear as he hurried over and embraced Claude. “Claude! I wasn’t sure it was you!”
Tyler narrowed his eyes slightly while Linda, his assistant, looked on with a serious expression.
Claude and Simmons chatted briefly before turning back to Tyler.
“Tyler, I’d like you to meet a friend I made in an old town,” Claude said.
“I was there for work and ended up driving my car into a water reservoir,” Simmons quickly explained. “Claude saved me. It’s amazing to see my hero again!”
Tyler raised an eyebrow. “That’s new to me, but it doesn’t surprise me—Claude is my brother-in-law.”
Simmons laughed. “Sorry, Mr. Harris, I should have told you sooner. I’m just happy to see Claude again.”
Claude then asked, “Why are you two here?”
Before Tyler could answer, Simmons spoke up. “Mr. Harris is interested in some land here. Since I know the area, he asked for my help.”
Claude’s interest piqued. “Which area is that?”
