Chapter 464

Tyler slipped on his coat, buttoning it up as Naomi’s question caught his attention.

“Isn’t she at the Harris residence? Where else would she be?”

Naomi’s voice trembled slightly.

“She’s nearly five months pregnant now, but I have no idea how she’s doing. She doesn’t answer my texts anymore,” she lamented.

“She’s fine, don’t worry,” Tyler replied firmly.

Without quite knowing why, Naomi felt a chill from his words. She studied him closely.

Tyler stood tall before her, the weight of his presence pressing down. “I’m heading to the airport. Anything else?”

Naomi realized he was ready to leave and board his flight. She closed his suitcase with a gentle smile.

“Alright, have a safe trip.”

Grabbing his suitcase, Tyler gave a curt farewell and walked out.

Suddenly, Naomi called out, her voice barely steady, “Can I have a hug, Tyler?”

Her nerves were obvious, desperation shining in her eyes. It had been so long since they’d embraced. She couldn’t remember the last time.

Tyler’s gaze met hers flatly, still distant. Can we ever mend this? Naomi wondered sadly.

Driven by impulse, she added, “Are you still unwilling to forgive me?” Tears welled, but she forced a smile to hide her sorrow.

“What are you talking about? I’ve moved on,” he replied bluntly.

Naomi persisted, helpless, “Then can you hug me? Although I probably smell of medicine… I doubt I’m pleasant to hug.”

She gave a strained smile.

Finally, Tyler stepped forward and wrapped her in his arms.

Naomi buried her face in his chest, tears streaming freely. She felt fragile, exposed.

But Tyler’s words cut through the warmth.

“I’ve moved on, so let’s not dwell on it. Stop overthinking, Naomi. No one has time to cater to your sensitivity.”

Though held in his embrace, his words stung deeply. This was not the Tyler she once knew.

A single tear traced down Naomi’s cheek as she opened her eyes to the painful reality between them.

An invisible barrier had formed, a reminder of what was and what could never be again.

After a brief moment, Tyler pulled away abruptly.

“I have to go now. Take care.”

He released her, leaving Naomi standing alone—devoid of warmth or intimacy.

He lingered a moment, eyes fixed on her, before handing his suitcase to his other secretary, Camilla Dwight, and exiting the ward.

Naomi watched him go, feeling a hollow emptiness inside—as if her heart were slowly deflating.

Just as Tyler reached the door, his phone rang again.

Camilla, uncertain, reminded him, “It’s Ms. Ana calling, sir.”
