Chapter 495

“What happened? The less you tell me, the more worried I get!” Darren demanded.

Camilla hesitated, carefully choosing her words. “Ms. Olivia… she suddenly developed amnesia and mutism. Mr. Tyler wants you at the hospital—right now.”

Darren froze in place, stunned.

But Camilla didn’t give him time to process. She grabbed his wrist urgently. “Please, Mr. Jones. You need to come with me now.”

Without another word, Darren followed her.

They reached the hospital just as Naomi received a call. The phone slipped from her trembling hand and fell onto the bed with a dull thud.

Hillary was tending to a vase of irises nearby. When she noticed Naomi’s expression, she quickly set the vase down and turned to her daughter. “What’s wrong?”

Naomi looked at her mother, her face pale and stiff with shock.

Hillary stepped closer, concerned. “Naomi?”

Naomi swallowed hard. “Olivia… she has amnesia. And… and mutism. Tyler’s secretary just told me… She doesn’t recognize anyone.”

For a moment, Hillary could hardly believe what she was hearing. To her, this could only mean one thing—Olivia had lost her mind.

“H-How did this happen?” she stammered. “How did she just… lose everything?”

“We should go,” Naomi said, her voice unsteady. “Maybe we’ll understand better once we see her ourselves.”

Hillary nodded. She turned to the nurse and asked her to bring a wheelchair.

Naomi sat in it quietly, and the nurse began pushing her down the hallway toward Olivia’s ward.

Meanwhile, Darren had just arrived.

Inside the ward, Olivia still refused to let anyone near her. She was tense, recoiling from any touch, even from nurses who approached gently.

The nurse leading Darren turned to him. “Sir, may I ask who you are?”

“I’m her father. Olivia’s father!” Darren said quickly, his eyes already scanning the room.

The crowd parted just enough for him to see Tyler standing near the front, beside the bed.

Darren rushed forward. “O-Olivia?!”

But before he could reach her, several doctors and nurses held him back. “Please, sir! No sudden movements. We’re trying to ease her into recognizing people. She’s very sensitive right now.”

Darren forced himself to stop, though his heart pounded in his chest. “What should I do?”

“Just speak to her gently. Call her name. Let’s see if she remembers you.”

Darren nodded, panicked but trying to remain calm.

He took a shaky breath. “O-Olivia…?”
