Chapter 310

As soon as Olivia came downstairs, Ana asked sharply, “Why did you leave so early?”

Olivia quickly thought of an excuse. “He’s busy with work.”

Ana didn’t press further. After a brief silence, she suggested, “You should rest.”

But Olivia shook her head gently. “I’ll stay with you since I’m free.”

Ana looked at her firmly. “I don’t need help here. Your job is to stay healthy for your baby and keep things good with Tyler. Don’t worry about anything else. No outsiders can interfere or stir trouble in our family.”

Olivia remained silent, showing no reaction.

Ana sighed, standing there for a moment before returning to her candle-making. Despite Ana’s words, Olivia stayed by her side, quietly insisting on helping.

That night, Olivia and Tyler slept on opposite ends of the bed. Olivia pretended to sleep while Tyler was absorbed in a book. She didn’t notice when he finally turned off the lights and drifted off to sleep from exhaustion.

The next morning, Olivia woke to find a different maid attending to her. Nina was gone.

Confused, she asked the new maid, Alisa Shannon, who was fetching clothes for her, “Where’s Nina?”

“She quit,” Alisa replied simply.

“Did she say why she left?” Olivia asked, surprised.

“No,” Alisa said, continuing to prepare a thick sweater jacket for Olivia.

Olivia wondered if Nina had left out of fear of too many questions. She hadn’t planned to ask, but now her curiosity was piqued. Nina had been skilled at caring for pregnant women, so the sudden replacement felt strange.

She decided to look into it later.

Meanwhile, Tyler left early to play golf with business directors—close associates he trusted.

As they played, Alan Randolph complimented him, “You did well with the farm project. I heard it’s still under construction, but the holiday villas sold out as soon as bidding opened.”

It was unusual for properties in remote areas to sell so quickly due to inconvenient transportation, but the Harris Group’s farm project was an exception.

“The property market hasn’t been doing great. Not many projects are as successful as this one,” Alan added.

Tyler responded flatly, “Really? I had no idea.”

He hadn’t been closely involved, having delegated the project first to Jacob and then to Linda. Real estate was just a convenient side venture, not the Harris Group’s main focus.
