Chapter 368

Maisy stood inside Ana’s room, her voice calm but firm.

“Ana, you’ve spent enough time with Olivia. You should know what kind of person she is. You know her better than I do.”

Ana looked over and frowned, her emotions simmering beneath her sharp gaze.

“I believe Olivia is innocent,” Maisy continued. “But something isn’t right here. Who stands to gain the most from this scandal?”

Ana scoffed, though a flicker of doubt crossed her expression.

Meanwhile, Darren had just heard about the incident from Hillary after she returned home. Anger clouded his face as he stormed out of the living room.

“Darling, what’s going on with Olivia? Have you spoken to her?” he demanded.

Earlier that morning at the Harris residence, Ana’s fury had erupted again. She had slapped one of the maids in a fit of rage. Even Tyler and Keith, downstairs, had heard the commotion.

The maid sobbed upstairs. “Ma’am, why did you slap me?”

Ana’s voice thundered, “Are you all deaf? I asked for a glass of water! Didn’t you hear me? Are you ignoring me?”

“I truly didn’t hear you,” the maid cried, trembling. “But you shouldn’t have hit me for that.”

Her quiet sobbing continued as Keith’s expression darkened, his face shadowed with disapproval.

Tyler remained silent. He was used to Ana’s domineering nature.

But Ana’s rage wasn’t about the maid. Her anger stemmed from the scandal engulfing their family.

She had spent time and effort grooming Olivia to become the perfect Mrs. Harris—trustworthy and poised. Now, that same young woman was the subject of public ridicule.

Ana had treated Olivia with genuine kindness and had helped her integrate into the family. Yet now, Olivia’s name was being dragged through the mud.

Throughout the sleepless night, Ana’s anger had only deepened, burning within her like a flame.

The maid’s soft cries still echoed when Maisy arrived upstairs and overheard the scene. A deep frown formed on her face.

Keith simply walked past, ignoring the tension, but Maisy called after him,

“Keith, Ana is going through menopause. Please say something to her.”

Keith scoffed, “Her problems are of her own making. Why should I interfere?”

Ana had been the one to choose Olivia as her daughter-in-law. Now she faced the bitter consequences and couldn’t escape the reality, no matter how loudly she lashed out.

Keith gave a cold laugh and headed upstairs.

Maisy then turned to Tyler. “Olivia is not that kind of person, Tyler. I know her well.”

Tyler’s face remained cold, unreadable. He said nothing, and Maisy headed upstairs with a worried heart.

Back in Ana’s room, her scolding continued. The maid knelt, wiping her tears in silence.

Maisy stood at the doorway and spoke gently, “Ana, why are you so angry?”

Ana glanced at her, her shoulders trembling slightly. After a few moments, she sank onto the couch, breathing heavily.

Maisy turned to the maid and said, “You may go.”

The maid quickly stood and fled the room.

Maisy walked inside and sat across from Ana.

“I know why you’re upset, Ana. I’m not blind. But you’ve spent enough time with Olivia to know her character. You should know her better than me.”

Ana’s gaze hardened, though her expression faltered for a second.

Maisy continued softly, “I believe Olivia is innocent. But something about this situation doesn’t make sense. Who benefits most from this scandal?”

Ana sat in silence for a moment, her mind racing. Then she gave a short, bitter scoff.

Meanwhile, at the Pearce household, Hillary had returned home and shared the news with Darren. Furious, he stormed out of the living room.

“Darling, what’s going on with Olivia? Have you talked to her?” Darren demanded.
