Chapter 308

The car window slid down, and Claude peered inside, spotting Tyler behind the wheel. “What are the chances of us meeting right outside my house?” he asked with a surprised smile.

He recalled the last time Tyler had been here — the day he got engaged to Morgan.

Tyler’s gaze was serious as he met Claude’s eyes. “This isn’t a coincidence, Claude. I’m here for you.”

Claude raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

Tyler’s voice turned cold. “You come from a well-known family. I’m sure you wouldn’t want any scandal, right?”

Claude guessed the reason for Tyler’s visit the moment he spotted his car. A grin spread across his face. “What scandal? You mean those rumors about me and Mrs. Harris? What if I told you I like her?”

Tyler’s expression grew even colder, but a smirk tugged at his lips. “We both have reputations to protect, while Olivia is naive. I trust you’ll act appropriately.”

“And what if I admit I do like her?” Claude challenged.

“You can try,” Tyler responded coolly.

Claude laughed. “You think I wouldn’t? Even though she’s technically your wife, isn’t it just on paper?”

Tyler said little, merely nodding with a brief, “Yes,” as he fiddled with his wedding ring. “Looks like you enjoy a challenge.”

“I do,” Claude replied without backing down.

Tyler warned, “You’ve just started at Yancey Bank. Try anything foolish, and see how quickly you lose your board of directors.”

With that, Tyler rolled up his window and drove off.

Claude stood there chuckling, watching the car disappear.

Just then, Sophie stepped out of the house. Seeing Claude standing there, she approached him. “Weren’t you going for a run? Why are you just standing here?”

He glanced at her casually. “It’s nothing.” Then he started walking.

But Claude wasn’t about to back down. From the moment he returned, he was ready to confront Tyler.

Now, he was determined to protect an innocent girl. How could he watch Tyler hurt someone else for Naomi’s sake?

Though Olivia was Naomi’s sister, Claude wouldn’t let her become a sacrifice for the couple’s relationship. The thought even crossed his mind to run away with Olivia and her unborn child. But would Naomi survive by then?

Claude’s smile deepened, but a fierce anger burned in his eyes.

Sophie watched him from the front of the house, confused by the expression on his back.

Meanwhile, when Tyler arrived home, he found Olivia making candles with Ana in the living room. He entered silently, his cold presence filling the room.

Ana noticed him and whispered to Olivia, “Tyler’s home. There’s a red velvet cake in the kitchen. Why don’t you bring it to him?”

But Olivia stayed rooted beside Ana, silent.

Ana looked at her, waiting for her to move.
