Chapter 366
“Divorce?”
“Yes. Divorce.” Olivia’s voice was steady, filled with quiet resolve.
Tyler studied her carefully before asking, “Is this truly what you want?”
She met his gaze without hesitation. “Our marriage was always about one thing—to have a child. Now that the child is on the way, there’s no reason to keep pretending.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been thinking about this for a long time, haven’t you?”
“What do you expect? Tell me—what else can I do? I’m the Mrs. Harris accused of betrayal. How do I make it right?”
Tyler’s expression remained unreadable. “You really think a divorce will calm the storm outside?”
She lowered her eyes. “It’s all my fault. I hope you’ll at least consider it.”
“Consider what exactly?” His tone was laced with sarcasm. “Getting a divorce to erase the cheating? Or to show everyone how fractured this family really is?”
He released her hand with a cold finality.
Olivia’s strength drained, but she forced herself to stay composed.
Tyler stepped back, his gaze sharp and unyielding. “Stay in the house until the rumors die down. I’ll handle the mess between you and Claude.”
Without another word, he turned and left.
Olivia sank onto the couch, an overwhelming emptiness settling over her.
That night, sleep eluded her. Uncertainty gnawed at her as she stared into the dark, suffocating night sky.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed. Claude’s name lit up the screen.
She flinched but didn’t answer.
Something about the call felt wrong—was Claude behind this nightmare?
Her phone kept ringing, draining its battery, but she didn’t move to pick it up.
The next morning, the house was eerily quiet, far from its usual bustle.
Tyler sat downstairs, awaiting reports from his team.
Keith leaned forward, voice sharp with frustration. “What are you going to do? I know work is demanding, but you can’t ignore what’s happening at home. You’re responsible too! Nothing like this has ever happened in our family.”
He slammed his glass onto the table, spilling coffee across its surface.
Tyler remained silent for a long moment before finally speaking, calm but resolute.
“This is all a misunderstanding. I’ll handle it and clear everything up.”
Keith shot him a skeptical look. “Misunderstanding? The photos were fake? Take a good look at yesterday’s newspaper still on the table—tell me if you still believe that.”
