Chapter 326
Tyler looked at Naomi, then continued feeding her the soup gently. “Drink up, and try to stop thinking about it,” he said quietly.
Meanwhile, Olivia’s smile shone brightly that day. Maisy had come to visit, sharing stories from her past. Olivia listened intently, occasionally laughing softly at Maisy’s lighthearted memories.
Seeing Olivia’s uplifted spirits, Maisy grinned warmly. “You look so beautiful when you smile. I love it.”
Though Olivia had been in the hospital for a whole week, Tyler had not visited. Both Maisy and Ana had kept his absence a secret from Olivia.
Olivia appeared calm, unaffected by it all, focusing only on resting during her stay. She understood why Maisy came so often. Since Olivia started living with them, Maisy had treated her like her own granddaughter.
Grateful, Olivia always returned Maisy’s care with a gentle smile, responding warmly to her jokes to ease her worries.
Maisy took Olivia’s hand in hers. “Once you’re out of here, I’ll show you my jewelry box and give you all the nicest pieces.”
“Thanks, Grandma,” Olivia replied with a tender smile.
“You don’t need to thank me,” Maisy said softly. “You’re my only granddaughter-in-law. Everything I have will be yours someday.”
Olivia said nothing in response.
Maisy gave her hand a gentle pat and sighed deeply. Whatever weighed on her heart remained a mystery.
Determined to spend as much time with Olivia as she could, Maisy stayed by her side throughout the morning. By afternoon, though, her energy waned. After sharing lunch together, Maisy left to rest at home.
Olivia spent the rest of the day in bed until she finally decided to get up.
As she shifted to stand, Alisa asked, “Are you going for a walk?”
The moment Olivia put weight on her foot, a sharp pain caused her to wince. Alisa quickly moved to support her. “Are you alright?”
After steadying herself, Olivia shook her head lightly. “I’m fine.”
“I think you should lie down,” Alisa advised gently. “Your sprain looks pretty bad.”
“I’m tired of lying down,” Olivia said stubbornly. “I want to walk around.”
Still wincing from the pain, Olivia reconsidered. “Actually… could you push me in the wheelchair?”
Alisa hesitated briefly but nodded. After helping Olivia into the wheelchair, they moved toward the door.
“Take me to my sister,” Olivia instructed firmly.
Alisa paused, unsure. “Ma’am…”
