Chapter 363
When Olivia called out softly to Ana, the older woman suddenly snatched the newspapers from the table and threw them toward her.
“What is this?!” Ana’s voice was sharp, dripping with anger.
Olivia looked down at the scattered papers at her feet, frozen and unable to speak.
Ana’s eyes burned with disbelief at the scandalous images before her—her once-prized daughter-in-law caught in compromising photos. “Who is that man in the pictures?” she demanded fiercely.
Olivia stared blankly at the images printed on the newspapers. How had these pictures leaked? The café… that day…
A flood of questions overwhelmed her mind.
Ana’s gaze locked onto Olivia, waiting intently for an answer. After a long pause, her voice snapped, “Say something!”
The images were a brutal shock. Her beloved daughter-in-law, caught with another man—apparently betraying her role as Mrs. Harris.
Ana’s hopes for Olivia shattered with each passing second. How could she be flirting with someone else?
Olivia finally looked up. “It’s not what it looks like. We didn’t—”
“Who is he?!” Ana’s voice rose with accusation. “Tell me now! Are you playing some kind of game?”
“No, Ms. Ana. I swear I’m not.”
“Then explain everything. I’ll listen, but you must tell me the truth.”
Ana’s voice echoed through the dining hall, ringing so loud it made Olivia’s ears hurt—her hearing nearly failing under the pressure.
Suddenly, a car engine roared outside. A maid burst in, breathless. “Ma’am, Mr. Keith is home!”
The news stirred a wave of tension. Just days ago, Ana and Olivia had been the talk of the town, and now this scandal was breaking wide open.
Even the Harris Group was shaken. Naturally, Keith had been informed and hurried back.
Ana’s eyes flicked toward the door at the announcement. She stood immediately.
Olivia followed her gaze and spotted Keith’s car pulling into the courtyard.
Everything unfolded too quickly. Olivia’s face paled, her heart sinking as she watched the scene.
Keith stepped out of the car, his expression dark and grim. Ana met him in the living room as he entered.
His eyes blazed with fury. “What’s going on?!” he demanded.
Ana met his glare with cold indifference. “How should I know what happened?”
“Stop with the excuses. Aren’t you neglecting your duties by letting this happen under our roof?!”
Ana scoffed with bitter sarcasm. “You come home just to question me? What am I to you? Why should I take responsibility for this?”
“Didn’t you pick her yourself?” Keith’s words cut deep.
Ana faltered. “Yo—”
But Keith didn’t give her the chance to explain. Without another word, he turned sharply and strode toward the dining hall.
