Chapter 305
Sophie smiled warmly at Jacob. “How could I not help you after we’re married? I’m my parents’ only daughter.”
Jacob squeezed her hand gently in return. “And you’re the only wife I’ll ever have.”
Overcome with happiness, Sophie threw her arms around him, forgetting everyone else around them.
Jacob embraced her back, but his eyes scanned the room. He noticed Olivia sitting prominently in the front row, and it surprised him.
Despite being married to Tyler, Olivia had clearly gained a significant standing—so much so that even Jacob and Sophie, now part of the family, had to sit behind her.
A small grin crossed Jacob’s face.
Olivia, meanwhile, seemed lost in her own thoughts, barely aware of Jacob’s glance. Perhaps the moment she saw him there, she stopped paying attention altogether.
Her mind was consumed with worry—would Nina reveal what had happened earlier with Claude? The idea of running away kept creeping into her thoughts, making it hard for her to even clap.
Later that evening, Olivia and Ana, both unusually weary, returned home. Ben greeted them, curious about the event at Claude’s.
His question made Olivia nervous—she dreaded Ana mentioning anything about the earlier incident.
“I’m exhausted,” Ana said simply. Then, handing her coat to the maid, she added, “You must be tired too. Go rest.”
Relieved, Olivia agreed and headed inside. She scanned the room for Nina, wanting to confirm she wouldn’t share what had happened—but Nina was nowhere to be found.
Ben asked, “What are you looking for?”
“Nothing,” Olivia replied quickly, then went upstairs.
When she reached her room, the light was on. Is Tyler home? Has he been here all day? she wondered.
Opening the door, she found Nina standing before Tyler, who sat on the couch. Both turned to look at her, but Tyler’s cold, emotionless gaze sent a shiver down her spine.
