Chapter 365
Olivia felt utterly drained, as if she were drifting through a fog. The maid’s soft words barely registered, her mind numb. She glanced at the maid for a moment, then silently followed, her head bowed low.
Ana’s sharp eyes remained fixed on her, while Keith’s expression darkened with silent judgment.
Tyler arrived at the airport in the dead of night—2 A.M. A crowd of reporters lingered outside, desperate for updates on the scandal. Avoiding the press, he slipped away in a separate car, boarding the plane through a private entrance.
When he reached home, the house was eerily silent. The maids greeted him quietly, and Linda followed closely, carrying his bags.
The entire day had been spent grappling with the fallout. Keith stayed upstairs, while Ana sat wordlessly on the couch below, not acknowledging Tyler’s entrance.
Tyler returned the silent treatment, heading straight upstairs.
Olivia remained secluded in her room, a prisoner of the morning’s events ever since Maisy had sent her away.
As Tyler entered the upstairs hallway, Alisa appeared and quietly called, “Sir.”
“I need no assistance,” Tyler replied curtly. Alisa nodded and left without another word.
Closing the door behind him with more force than usual, Tyler’s sharp sound echoed downstairs. The maids exchanged nervous glances, unsettled by the tense atmosphere.
Ana sat lost in thought, still trying to unravel the confusing turn of events. Everything felt shrouded in mystery.
In her room, Olivia sat beside the bed, her earlier terror replaced by a chilling calm. Though she should have greeted Tyler, she remained still, her eyes steady and unreadable.
Tyler approached her, voice even but serious. “Is there anything you want to say?”
He had rushed home as soon as the news broke, delegating the ongoing project to his team.
There was no anger in his tone—only quiet inquiry.
Olivia met his gaze and said, “I don’t think I owe anyone an explanation.”
“How do you want me to handle this mess with Claude?” he pressed.
She fell silent.
Tyler needed no answer. “Once you confirm you’re innocent, I’ll take care of it,” he assured her calmly, without a hint of doubt.
Then, unexpectedly, Olivia’s voice was firm: “It’s true.”
Tyler’s face darkened with shock and anger.
“I don’t care what your family or the world thinks of me. What you saw in the news… it’s true.”
He gripped her shoulders, pulling her close, but she pushed back, nearly stumbling.
Already fragile from her pregnancy and the stress, she steadied herself and looked up at him with raw honesty.
“Wasn’t my warning enough? Why must you drag me into this?”
She swallowed hard, her voice barely a whisper.
“I don’t know how to apologize for disrupting the life of the rightful Mrs. Harris. Now that I’m pregnant… maybe this is a chance for us to part ways. To be free.”
All Olivia wanted was freedom. She hoped this scandal might be the key to escaping her cage.
Maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t the worst outcome after all.
