Chapter 383
Naomi knew Ana wouldn’t let up, so she shifted her gaze from Olivia to Ana, hoping for some mercy. But Ana’s eyes were fixed solely on Tyler.
“She’s speechless now, Tyler,” Ana said coldly. “Is there anything you’d like to say?”
Naomi then turned to Tyler, unable to meet his gaze directly, but desperate for some sign of understanding. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she tried to express remorse, silently begging for his forgiveness.
At last, Tyler responded to Ana’s challenge and stepped closer to Naomi.
She called his name softly, “Tyler.”
Even the smallest reaction from him would offer some comfort.
Tyler picked up the papers and scanned them briefly before looking back at Naomi. “Tell me, did you do it?”
He wanted her to admit it herself.
Naomi nearly collapsed onto the bed but mustered the last of her strength to stay upright.
“Answer me,” Tyler urged, his voice firm.
“Tyler, I was out of my mind. I never expected this outcome,” Naomi whispered, her pale lips trembling so violently they turned purple. Her entire body wavered.
Tyler held the proof firmly in front of her. “Out of your mind? Naomi, everyone is sacrificing themselves to save you, and what about you? What are you doing? Wanting to live and being afraid of losing shouldn’t justify your actions. When did you change like this? Explain.”
Naomi felt the air drain from her like a deflating balloon. Finally, she broke down completely.
“I’m sorry, Tyler! I was frustrated and scared. Every day I’ve lived in fear — fear of losing you, fear of losing everything. That’s why I did something unforgivable. Can you forgive me?”
Tyler slammed the papers down onto the bed. “I don’t recognize you anymore, Naomi! I cannot forgive you!”
His anger stunned everyone present — even Olivia, who watched quietly.
Naomi struggled for breath, tears spilling into her mouth. She was shocked by his harsh response.
His icy gaze seemed to see through the mask she wore, as if looking at someone else entirely.
She fell silent, her tears continuing to fall.
Ana felt triumphant. After years of battling Naomi, victory was finally hers.
She smirked inwardly, savoring the moment.
Without another word, she glanced at Olivia and turned to leave.
Tyler, who had always been courteous even toward Naomi’s parents Darren and Hillary, now spoke with an authority none had seen before. Though he hadn’t liked Darren and Hillary much, he had respected them — but now, his tone was sharp and commanding.
Hillary was visibly shaken by this change; it was the first time she had seen Tyler like this.
Tyler said nothing further. He took Olivia’s hand and left the ward, passing by Hillary without a glance.
Olivia’s body was stiff as they walked away. She had no idea how she’d ended up going with him.
Naomi felt as if she might die watching them leave. She screamed, “Tyler!”
But he didn’t stop; he kept walking with Olivia.
At that moment, Naomi rolled off the bed and fell hard onto the floor. “Tyler—”
Darren and Hillary hurried over, alarmed by the chaos in the ward.
Unaware Olivia was there, they approached Naomi, who was sobbing uncontrollably in front of Tyler.
“What’s going on? Naomi? Tyler?”
Naomi remained silent, tears flowing freely.
Meanwhile, Tyler ignored them completely.
