Chapter 339

After breakfast, Olivia returned to her room, and Tyler followed shortly behind. She settled into her wheelchair, a restless unease settling over her as she watched him enter.

“Where’s the maid?” Tyler asked, noticing Olivia was alone.

Just then, Alisa appeared. “I went to get an ice bag for her foot,” she explained softly.

Tyler nodded and headed toward the door to change his clothes.

Breaking the silence, Olivia spoke up, her voice tentative, “Tyler, I want to visit Naomi.”

He paused, then turned to face her.

Her fingers clenched into a tight fist. “I’m worried about her,” she added, her concern evident.

“There’s no need for you to go. Stay here,” Tyler said firmly, leaving no room for argument.

Olivia’s hand trembled, but she pressed on. “I just need to talk to her…” The image of her sister fainting at the door haunted her, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that somehow, it was her fault.

Tyler cut her off coldly. “She doesn’t want to see you. Don’t go there.”

Stunned, Olivia looked up at him, struggling to understand his harsh refusal and indifferent demeanor. But Tyler avoided her gaze and walked away.

Moments later, he returned, dressed in fresh clothes. Both Olivia and Alisa remained silent, watching as he left the room without another word.

Olivia blinked back tears, a sting rising in her nose. Tyler’s refusal weighed heavily on her. Her wish to visit Naomi was meant to comfort, yet it only seemed to deepen the divide.

“Ma’am, are you… are you okay?” Alisa asked gently.

With a blank expression, Olivia clasped her hands tightly. After a long pause, she whispered, “I’m fine.”

Her voice cracked, betraying the calm mask she wore.

Downstairs, Tyler paused as he met Linda, who had just collected some clothes for Naomi. “Mr. Tyler,” she greeted him quietly.

Tyler nodded coldly in response and continued toward the door, his secretary trailing behind.

Upstairs, Olivia heard the car pull away. She dismissed the maid softly, “You don’t need to help me. I’m fine. You can go now.”

Alisa glanced worriedly at Olivia’s pale face but obeyed, leaving the room silently.
