Chapter 352
Tyler carefully put the envelope away after flipping through the photographs. “Once you’re feeling better, let’s watch a match together.”
Naomi smiled softly. “It’s a shame she’s retired now.”
He shrugged lightly. “That’s alright. There are better teams and players these days.”
“I want to go skiing again, too,” she added wistfully.
“Sure,” Tyler replied warmly.
“You’ll have to teach me,” Naomi said with a playful smile. “It’s been so many years—I might’ve forgotten how.”
“Mm–hmm, I will,” he promised.
In truth, they could always cherish the memories of the places they had visited in their youth. Back in their early twenties, they had made headlines when a local reporter captured them during what was dubbed the game of the century.
Her photograph had graced the pages of local newspapers, accompanied by a glowing article that proclaimed her the future princess of the Harris family.
As their lighthearted conversation continued, Linda entered the room carrying a cake, catching Naomi by surprise.
“Did you order cake?” Naomi asked.
Without replying, Linda produced a small box along with the cake and handed it over.
“Open it,” she urged.
Puzzled, Naomi accepted the box, unsure what to expect. With trembling hands, she opened it—and inside lay a delicate ring.
Naomi gasped, covering her mouth in shock, overwhelmed into silence.
Outside the ward, Hillary and Darren watched through the window, equally stunned by the sight of the ring.
Tears welled up in Hillary’s eyes as she gripped Darren’s arm. “Darren, it’s a ring!”
He nodded, moved by how thoughtful Tyler’s gesture was.
Inside, Tyler asked quietly, “Do you like it?”
Naomi was at a loss for words, her gaze fixed on the sparkling ring.
He stood up from his chair and approached her, gently taking the ring from its box and sliding it onto her finger. Leaning close, he whispered, “It’s a belated gift.”
Naomi’s face lit up with joy. “I’m just glad it arrived.”
Tyler’s eyes lingered on the ring, a rare softness in his expression.
Meanwhile, Maisy had recently begun ordering custom-made baby clothes. When the tailor delivered them, she eagerly showed the collection to Olivia.
Olivia, fully immersed in the preparations, delighted in the adorable outfits and soaked up all the newborn dressing tips Alisa shared.
Though she was still only about four months pregnant, Olivia felt it was never too early to start getting ready.
She absorbed every bit of parenting advice from Alisa throughout the morning, her face glowing with anticipation and satisfaction.
Maisy shared in Olivia’s joy, frequently entering her room to offer her own parenting wisdom.
Though some of Maisy’s advice leaned toward the traditional and cautious, Olivia listened carefully, committing it all to memory.
That very morning, Olivia had been sorting the baby clothes, neatly placing them in the wardrobe with Alisa’s help.
Suddenly, her phone, resting on the table, began to ring.
