Chapter 313
Tyler’s eyes were so cold it felt like they could freeze anyone who met his gaze. Olivia found herself speechless, unable to respond. He paid no attention to her reaction and walked straight to the wardrobe.
Olivia stood quietly for a moment, lips pressed tightly together as she watched him move. Then, after a pause, she remained still in the bedroom, lost in thought.
When Tyler came out of the shower, his voice was brisk. “I have work to do. Try to get some sleep early.” Without waiting for a reply, he left the room and headed to the study.
Olivia stayed standing for a while longer before finally closing her eyes, as if coming to a painful realization.
Downstairs, Maisy glanced at Ana with concern. “What’s going on with those two?”
Ana had just returned from her walk and knew exactly what Maisy was referring to. “What do you think? They had an argument.”
Maisy frowned, puzzled. “Why did he get upset with her?”
Ana sighed softly. “I’ll talk to them again.”
“Mm-hmm, you should,” Maisy agreed, nodding. “Don’t worry, they’ll be okay.”
Ana tried to reassure her, but deep down she shared the worry—especially for the baby. She knew she needed to handle things delicately.
Eventually, Olivia moved from her spot in the bedroom and went to take a shower. Alisa, the new maid, offered to bring her clothes.
“I’ll get it myself,” Olivia replied quietly. She picked up her clothes and headed into the bathroom.
As she closed the door behind her, she stood under the warm water, letting it wash away the tension. But suddenly, a troubling thought came to her mind. Startled, she turned around—and slipped on the slick marble floor.
She fell hard onto her back.
For a moment, everything went blank. Olivia lay there, staring wide-eyed up at the ceiling light, her breath caught in her throat.
Alisa, changing sheets in the bedroom, noticed how long Olivia had been in the bathroom. Growing concerned, she called out, “Are you done, ma’am?”
Olivia tried to scream for help—but no sound came out.
“Ma’am?” Alisa called again. When she received no answer, she hurriedly opened the bathroom door—and her eyes widened in shock.
There was Olivia, lying motionless on the floor.
“Ma’am! Ma’am! What happened?!” Alisa cried, rushing to her side to offer help.
Downstairs, Ana and Maisy were still talking when they heard Alisa’s panicked scream.
Alisa burst out of the bathroom, shouting, “Ms. Maisy! Ms. Ana! Olivia has fallen!”
“What?!” Both Ana and Maisy jumped up, their faces filled with horror.
Alisa hurried toward the study, calling out urgently.
Within moments, Tyler sprinted from the study to the bedroom, his expression unreadable.
Seeing Olivia lying on the floor, vulnerable and hurt, he quickly grabbed a blanket and gently covered her.
The room fell into a heavy silence as everyone waited, hearts pounding with fear.
