Chapter 316

Tyler’s expression shifted instantly—shock flickered across his face before settling into a deep frown.

Naomi stood frozen at the doorway, her face drained of color, pale and lifeless. Their eyes met for a brief moment, and she felt an unexpected heaviness settle in her chest. Tyler’s grip remained firm on Olivia’s hand, his focus unwavering.

Even Emma, standing nearby, could sense the sudden tension in the room.

Olivia, struggling with pain, glanced up and shivered when she saw Naomi at the door. In a weak voice, she whispered, “Naomi…”

Naomi took a hesitant step back, the realization sinking in that Tyler’s concern was solely for Olivia—not for the baby.

She watched Tyler gently cup Olivia’s face, the tenderness in his touch speaking volumes. It was not a casual gesture—it was how a man shows care for a woman he truly cherishes.

Olivia leaned into Tyler’s embrace, seeking comfort. Naomi’s mind raced—how had things gotten so close between them? Weren’t they supposed to keep distance? What was really going on?

But Naomi said nothing. Without another word, she turned abruptly and walked away.

Emma’s voice called after her, filled with concern, “Ms. Naomi!”

Olivia loosened her grip on Tyler’s hand as he stood still, his face tight with worry. Then, Emma’s voice rang out again, louder and more urgent, “Ms. Naomi—”

Tyler snapped out of his trance and rushed after Naomi.

Olivia, still dazed, collapsed back against the side of the bed, a sharp pain shooting through her arm where she had hit the frame. But she remained motionless, staring blankly at the closed door.

Doctors and nurses hurried out into the hallway, drawn by the sudden unrest. All Olivia could hear was Emma’s frantic calls for Naomi, her voice growing louder with every moment.

Tyler’s authoritative voice cut through the chaos, “Prepare the ward immediately!”

Olivia had never heard such distress in his tone before—it shook her deeply.

Urgent shouts echoed through the corridor as the doctor ordered, “Notify the emergency department—this is a critical situation!”

Left alone in her hospital bed, Olivia clutched the sheets tightly, her stomach twisting in pain. She trembled and called out softly into the stillness, “Is anyone there?”

The hallway remained quiet. Everyone had gone, and no one returned.
