Chapter 354
Sophie stood quietly, her eyes flickering between Olivia and Katrina.
Katrina’s gaze drifted to Olivia’s belly. “Oh my, your belly has grown. Are you at four months now?”
Though Olivia was indeed four months pregnant, her slim figure barely revealed it. “Yes, Ms. Katrina,” she replied calmly.
Katrina gently took Olivia’s hand, a pleased smile spreading across her face. “What a sweet lady. No wonder Tyler likes her.”
Olivia was surprised by the gesture but didn’t pull her hand away, aware of the delicate ties between their families.
As Katrina held Olivia’s hand, she inwardly mused how wonderful it would be if Claude could find someone as sensible and kind-hearted as Olivia. Meanwhile, Ana was fortunate indeed to have such a daughter-in-law.
The tighter Katrina’s grip grew, the more Ana fixed her with a curious look.
Sophie’s heart fluttered, caught off guard by Katrina’s unexpected fondness for Olivia.
Just as Sophie was about to speak, Ana teased with a smile, “What, do you like my daughter-in-law?”
Katrina suddenly realized she had revealed too much. She quickly let go of Olivia’s hand and said, “I envy your luck in having such an amazing daughter-in-law.”
Ana chuckled knowingly. “Oh? Are you unlucky with your own daughter-in-law?”
Katrina froze, sensing the heavy implications behind Ana’s words. Her earlier warmth now felt like a misstep.
“Oh, no, of course I’m lucky,” Katrina hurried to clarify. “Our family is very happy to have Morgan.”
To those unaware, it might seem Morgan was still part of the family.
At the mention of Morgan, Sophie fell silent.
The atmosphere thickened with tension.
Ana smiled softly. “Claude is loyal to love. He’ll always be my son-in-law. Their love keeps our family bond strong.”
Olivia felt a chill run down her spine, while Katrina forced a laugh to hide her unease. “Indeed.”
But only Katrina knew the truth behind that smile.
Ana’s subtle grin masked a hidden cruelty—one capable of causing pain without a single harsh word.
Sophie lowered her gaze, choosing silence over words.
Olivia sensed the cold undercurrents between the women and stood quietly beside Ana.
Soon, a staff member approached Ana. “We’re ready now, Mrs. Harrin. Please come in.”
Ana shot a brief glance at Katrina before turning to Olivia. “Let’s go.”
“Okay,” Olivia replied, following her.
